The North Face Base Camp Duffle XXL $216.97 (Was $310) Delivered / C&C @ Paddy Pallin

200

Slightly cheaper at Wildearth - but only 3 in stock

Excess savings due to lack of travel? Planning your next big trip already? 150L of easy to carry duffel. Most other places are north of $250, with the official TNF shop selling it at $310.

Big bags but great for trips where you take a lot of crap. I'm not sure if they're any better than the Mountain Designs Duffle ($160 for 120L, although I think it's dropped down to $99 in the past? that I already have a few of, but if you're after that Dan Andrews ensemble, this may be the bag for you.

I only just woke up and I saw the thumbnail and my brightness is down a bit and I thought it was someone selling a PSP again and I was all for it.

I have the L and Xl - the L is big, the xl is really big. This bag will be insanely big…

  • "150L of easy to carry duffel."

Yea right at 150L … seems like back-breaking carry.

The North Face brand used to be cool about 5 to 10 years ago .. now it is too popular .. eg Vic premier, Dan Andrews.

    • I agree, I have a ~100L Duffel for my winter climbing gear and even going overkill on gear (minus skis) I rarely get close to filling it.

Plus once it's close to full it becomes a pain in the butt to cart around.

      • Yep and there is such a thing as wheeled bags available last century and this century.

But i guess the donkey taking your luggage up to Base Camp would prefer a duffel without wheels .. but still, you can just put the soft side against the donkey.

duffels are useful if you have to walk some distance over uneven surfaces though

        • Eh wheelers are only useful for airports.

          Useless in the field.

          Also why the snarky comment?

@Telios: Not snarky to you .. snarky to guy that said '150L of easy to carry duffel' but maybe he was being sarcastic anyway.

I have TNF Rolling Thunder .. it is ok to drag around over reasonably over a bit of a rough surface .. gravel roads or down steps, etc.

Could this be used to transport a dead politicians body? Asking for a Melburnian friend.

  • Looks like version 1.
Very 2 has external end pockets. But no holes for padlock on main zippers

    • Wasn't V2 introduced a few years ago?

I think just old photo .. doubt Paddy Pallin would still have stock that old.
