How Often Do You Find A Bargain On OzB And Buy Something?

Since being actively flicking through the OzB site over the past month or so, I've found myself looking at loads of potential bargains I'd not otherwise known about.

Openly admitting to having what some may call a shopping addition (I prefer to term it as being a bargain hunter - especially with this crazy lockdown) - this morning I thought to myself, wait a sec, would I be buying this stuff if I wasn't finding bargains on OzB?

Wondering how others buying habits have been modified by OzB. How much lockdown has modified your spending and the likes.

I come for the bargains but stay for the drama in the forums section.

I think you would be one with a bowl of popcorn then, in that case! hahahahha

      drama in the forums section.

Days of our lives. Lost keys, face masks, security guard, escalation, being rear ended, dark arts, collecting cans…

    • the dramas over price errors keeps me quite entertained

I often find a bargain on OzB and justify buying it by saying " I needed it to go with my (insert random item here)"

  • Please link to a recent bargain

    • Bunnings drone 2019.

      • That was probably the last bargain.

    • $186 Euromaid fridge by AO.

Nah, I only come for the dumb surveys…. there's enough of those every day.

    • Shame we can't claim cashback on all the polls, hey?… lol!

  • A quick look through my history indicates that the last item I purchased as a result of seeing it on OzBargain was nearly a year ago.

    Missing poll opinion.

The most recent item I bought, was from one of my deal post. :)

    • lol… that's a fair point indeed!

  • Half the time I'm not even sure if it's a bargain, I just buy stuff anyway.

  • I'm here for the competitions/forum , rarely look at deals unless there is something specific I am after.

  • i am mainly here for the beef jerky dramas

If anything this website has made me tight with money, whenever I want something (that I don't really need) I search ozbargain and if I see it cheaper on an expired deal, I'll wait.

Every now and then I'll buy something from a deal (2 or 3 items a month)

But I enjoy the community, I frequent the website (3 or 4 times a day) I look through the bargains but I save the forums for last.

  • In recent times the greatest "bargains" I've got from here are temporary cashback deals or discounted gift cards.

Actual product discounts seem rare at the moment.

  • I don't think I've had too many impulse buys where I buy something that I didn't need but was too good a deal to pass up. Am I even an OzBargainer?

Pass a lot of work time on here keeping up with the drama/forums

    • "I don't think I've had too many impulse buys where I buy something that I didn't need but was too good a deal to pass up. Am I even an OzBargainer?"

Perhaps: "I don't think I've had too many impulse buys where I buy something that I didn't need but was too good a deal to pass up. Am I even an OzBeginner? - Yet to get lured into the mystic habit of Bargain Buying…?" Or, maybe you're super strong-willed! 👍

      • I think usually I'm too late to the price error bargains like the Bunnings Drone for example. Absolutely no need for a drone but would have grabbed one if I was quick enough and would have even been happy with a GC reversal

  • I'm mostly just looking at dining and takeaway and forums nowadays.

  • Cashback on alcohol are my favourite deals of the past 18 months.

  • I work for an insurance company and I'm here to convince more people to get insurance on their vehicles.

  • Don't tell me you put that last option for jv ?

    • JV?
Not sure who or what JV means in this context?
But there was a certain (to remain unnamed) member that did come to mind when I write the last one, yes. If That's what you mean? 🤭

  • Hardly ever. Bargains are normally all gone by the time I see them.

  • I mostly read and respond to comments.

I feel like I've graduated to being a reformed consumerist bargaineer, not through any virtue of my own, but because I have found all the things I need on here and purchased at great prices already.

Also, once in a while Pam shows up with comments that offer more contemplative substance than any Zen koan

  • I like a good bargain.
