How Is Moebot Robot Mower?

I am thinking to buy a Robot mower for my lawn. Size is about 150sqm backyard and 100sqm front yard separated by concrete payment.

I am thinking about Moebot S5 that is within my budget ? Does anyone have it and how is the quality ? Will it do the job ?

  • Sorry, I don't have any experience with these, but these things are so cool!

If they caught the grass too, I would have loved these when I was a teen.

They operate daily so no need to catch any long grass clippings. Just tiny amounts taken off and 'mulched'.

OP, the S5 / S10 are brand new. I was looking for reviews the other night and couldn't find anything. I really like that the only difference between them is the battery which is user-changeable

  • Thanks ! After research, thinking between

    Moebot S5 (600sqm)

    and

    Worx WR139E (500 sqm)

    They are about $400 difference.

Which one is better and better quality ? Is $400 for Worx landroid worth extra ?

    Hey guys,

got my S5 recently and so far love it =) shoot your questions, I will try to answer.
So far from what I understand the advantages of Landroid compared to Moebot:
    * upgradability of Landroid (different sensors and stuff)
    * Landroid cuts about 5-8 cm closer to the edge because the blades are offset to the side, but you still need to do edges in both cases anyway
    * obstacle handling seems better and smarter on the Landroid (can circle around trees when bumps, whereas Moebot will just bump and change direction)
    * Narrow passages (less than 1.2m) are a problem for Moebot (although still doable) whereas Landroid has been specifically programmed to handle those
    * the fancier app on the Landroid side with options for selecting your lawn type and irrigation options and supposedly managing run time and frequency on its own
    * firmware updates (don't know how often they happen and how useful that would be)
    * huge community of owners on the internet (forums\reddit etc)

    and advantages of the Moebot:
    * PRICE =) you can get it for around 800 which is almost half price
    * blades are cheaper and can be used on all four sides, (landroid does use two sides automatically though, for moebot you have to rotate manually)
    * the simpler app might be an advantage for some not so technical people
    * screen and buttons are covered under a flap

All in all it comes down to whether you wanna pay extra for the advantages above. But from the actual getting the work done side, they both are literally the same and I would not say that Landroid would get the job done any better.

    • I am waiting for my S5 order to arrive ;). However, I can't find the Moebot app on Google store or apple store. Can you tell me how to get the app? Thanks

still loving it Kevmi? how big is your grass area? how hard to setup with cabling?

    • You mentioned obstacles - does the moebot get there in the end? I've got some play equipment in the backyard I can't easily move (swing, trampoline) and worried it would spend most of its time stuffing around amongst obstacles.

Also on setup, I have a front and rear yard separated by a gate. Can I just run the boundary wire continually through both and just shut the gate when I don't want it to go out the front, or would it freak out trying to get through the closed gate?

Hi kevmi, where did you buy for $800?

They are having a sale right now. I paid 720 via eBay ID you are still interested.

      • Hey where is the Ebay item to buy via Ebay?

  • Years later I know, but did you end up getting one and what did you go for?
