What Car Do You Have?

Let’s see what the people of ozbargain drive. Is the cash people are saving off this website enough for some high end cars? Probably not, but let’s hear it anyway. (No I don’t drive).

      Great choice.

    • Any issues with the transporter>?

One of the businesses just converted to the vw van range, were going to go with mercedes sprinters but the reviews are terrible despite most of the cars on the road being sprinters.

        • well the power steering I found needs the strength of Hercules to turn and new power steering pump didn't do anything. How many km? The one I have just under 200,000km

2019 Honda Jazz. Holds a ton of stuff, and comfortable to drive.

    • +1

Very underrated car. I think Honda really did themselves a disservice with it's name, though.

It's spacious, efficient and has a surprising zippiness. I know someone with one and it's crazy to see how much you can fit in there. The seats all fold away to the point that you've got something akin to a tiny van. My car is bigger on paper and I can't fit shit, but they can load up huge IKEA flatpacks without trouble. It's mind boggling.

    • I had to scroll way toooo far to see this comment.

You should see my guitar and amp collection!!

    • +1

      959 or 1299?

      • +1

1299 with Termignoni pipes and an ECU tune but I've literally put around 2,500 kms on it since I bought it.
Same with my Vespa PX. I split the motor, sand blasted the cases, rebuilt everything, matched the porting to the Malossi kit, bolted on an oversize carby and so on and have put about 1,000km since then.

I just don't get ride time with everything in my life these days.

It's only the Ducati that costs proper money in insurance and rego to be sitting there unused.

        • +1

Very nice. The 1299 is better looking (prettier, at least) than the V4 IMO. Shame not to ride it.

          • +1

@bakko: I agree and it is FAST!! Originally I was going to get a Scrambler because I like the retro look of it but ended up in love with the Pana.

I have a problem accepting the fact that I'm getting older I think. I still have fast bikes and cars, I still play football (don't say soccer) but I have resigned to doing trackwork in my simulator (which cost almost as much as a little track car anyway), so maybe I'm slowly getting there.

Life's funny like that. I was young with little play money so my toys were few and then when I could finally afford to buy things at a whim, my 20's and 30's had slipped away.

Oddly, I have a client who bought the 2020 Panigale V4 25 Anniversario 916 which are limited edition. He left it at the dealership on display on one of those podiums, never rode it and sold it not even a year ago.

I look at him and think what a waste that was and yet…. I am a hypocrite

            • +1

@imurgod: Sounds like we have similar addictions. Cars, bikes, racing simulators, guitars, amps… and no time to enjoy them.

              • @bakko: I have to say that I do get to do sim racing once a week at least lately.

What sim do you race in?

Average salary is about $64k, median $53k.

Average full time $93k, median full time $76k.

Not sure those cars are what "average" people would be buying.

      • Oh they will, one of the KFC employees down at my local got an A45 so let depreciation do its thing.

        • Of course they will, but should people really spend 100% or more of their wage on a depreciating asset?

    I have a 2016 Holden SSV2 Redline.

I am thinking of buying a VF F2 GTS. In my younger days I had a Torana GTR, XU-1 and I raced a Torana Sports Sedan late 70s and 80s. So I've always been a revhead.
Husband knows SFA about cars but is cool to go with the flow and happy with what I buy. I worked hard for my super….

    • Female racer in the 70s and 80s. Sweet.

Any mods on the current SS?

      • It's stock but I'd like a tune. It's great on the track even being stock. Brembos are amazing at stopping when you need to.
Gives me adrenalin rush like the race car used to. Equally as nice as a comfortable car touring. Not to mention nice to look at

        • A tune and a sweet exhaust would be nice

          • @MS Paint: Nice growly De filippo exhaust would be great. Have been looking at GTS but after getting an insurance quote, it's now not an option 😢

  • 2015 Mazda 3

  • 2016 X4 35d.

Sips fuel, goes like a rocket, has an ugly arse. Got 10ys servicing when I bought it, will keep it till that ends.
