Just received this price drop from Deku Deals, lowest price ever on this game on the switch and hasn't been on sale in forever (last time was October 2019).

        I enjoyed the old Harvest Moon games and still struggled for a long time with getting into this one, despite what everyone was saying. I found I appreciate it more as a multiplayer experience.

        I mean, I'd say "then maybe don't get it" but I own it on PC, PS4, and Switch sooooo I'm probably not the person to ask. If you own it on another platform, you're already aware of if you like the game or not. Do you want to be able to play it anywhere / any time?

        Pretty sure multiplayer doesn't work between different platforms so you'd be limited if all your friends have it on switch and you only have it on steam. Or they would be limited…

    good game, but I think the mods on PC spoiled me. Like the automatic gatherer, the one that moves things from 1 place to another…. I had entire chains built up.

    Thanks OP. Enjoyed Animal Crossing so figured I may enjoy this too. I like how time stops when you stop playing unlike Animal Crossing, always felt pressured to play daily.

      Stardew isn't as repetitive as ACNH and has RPG elements to it. I got bored of ACNH after 6 months since it was fundamentally just an island decorator game.

      Define "local" - as in 2 players on the same Switch? I'm told it's possible as of version 1.54 but I've never done it myself.

      If "local" means "in the same vicinity" then yes, you can do that with 2 Switches, either docked or undocked using local communication - which will disconnect your WiFi. Have done that with my partner many times since v1.3

        Thanks for that, yes local as in "couch co-op". The split screen wasn't mentioned at all on the info page , good to know :) Might consider picking it up to play with my kid.

          I’ve always been a big fan of the game but the multiplayer just took it to a whole new level for me. There’s something really satisfying about working together and planning out a farm through the seasons. I hope you both enjoy it if you do end up purchasing!

      hey mate, I have the game and can confirm local co-op works (max 2 players) and was playing it over the quarantine. I.e. 2 players using the single switch.

      highly recommend it, it's great fun!
