[Switch] Burnout Paradise Remastered $11.98 @ Nintendo eShop

550

Had this on my watch list and saw it just dropped to the lowest price ever. Seems to be well rated for a racing game on the Switch.

Download size: 3.995 GB
Metacritic: 78 (User 8.0)

This is Crash FM and I'm DJ Atomika reporting to you live from Paradise City. If you don't already own this game; what are you waiting for? Go out and buy it, now now NOW!

  • Can you get this game free on Android?

God this game gave me the s*#ts on PlayStation.

Tearing through the streets, miles ahead, some numpty pulls out of a side street unseen, then BAM! Race over. Try again.

    • If your talking about ps3 I can relate, I hated this game on 360 and ps3 since the 720p resolution was so bad you could barely see what was in front of you. Only when I picked it up on latest gen consoles I started to enjoy it, been buying it on multiple platforms when its been on sale

One of my favourite games of all time! Picked up the PS4 version for my PS5 a few months ago, and despite there being many objectively better and technically more impressive games out there, I just seem to spend so much time messing around in this.

Worth the $12 for messing around on stunt runs alone, really addictive to try and see how long you can stretch a combo and how high that score can get.

    • Did you experience any crashes on the PS4 version? On release (and in the first 6 months) it was buggy mess and would crash randomly every time I played. Stopped playing it due to that. Hopefully that's been fixed.

      • Nope, no crashes. Have only played it on a PS5, but haven't had it crash at all and I probably have 50+hrs in it.

        • Awesome! Completely forgot about that game since then, but will have another crack at it. It was fun when it worked.

Real pity that vita has nfs most wanted, and switch has thus. Vita has the better game

This was my first game on PS3, just bought this to relive the good times.

Wish they would just remaster Burnout 2 and 3. Crash mode was the absolute shit.

    • I thought this had a crash mode?

      • I was just wondering the same thing- is that the mode where you get a score in money in terms of damage done during the run (or am I confusing with another game)?

        • See my other comment.

It does but it's trash compared to the original. You can "nudge" your car to keep it going infinitely and the cars don't stop spawning. The actual crash mode required planning, forethought and you couldn't keep moving your car once it left the ramp or started a wreck.

        • Ah ok ta. Maybe pass then..

@nurseboucher: Yeah, crash mode can be started by the player at will at anypoint on the map with a press of a button in paradise, unlike the old games where the set pieces and scenarios were preset even the traffic patterns, so you could make a reliable plan.

    • Me too, they were far superior to Paradise.

The only people who thought Paradise was good were the ones who hadn't played 2 and 3.

Purchased an original Xbox copy of Burnout 3 earlier this week and waiting eagerly for it in the post to have some nostalgic fun with it, had it years ago and can't recall what happened to it, must have sold or lost it somewhere… would indeed be nice if Burnout 3 was remastered for the Switch but suspect it will cost slightly more than the $6 I paid for the original xbox version if Nintendo and EA stamp their tax on it.

    • Have you tried danger zone 1 or 2 or even dangerous driving? It's basically just crash mode exclusively. Not a whole package like burnout 3 but was still somewhat fun.

  • can you play multiplayer with the mini remotes?
