    Looks crappy.
Prefer MADE IN JAPAN Olympic cardboards lol

    • +4

show us something better at $49 then lol

      • +6

Kmart cardboards = Free. Just ask at the back.

        • Aldi is better, you can get it without asking. But I always buy something if I take some out of shop. Anyone wanted to share if they went into aldi, took some cardboard out of shop without buying anything?

          • +1

@htc: I'd imagine they are happy if you take their cardboard. They have to pay for disposal.

        • I guess it is Anko right? All anko items I have bought broke just after a few days use. A dish drainer did not last 3 days, the soldering was like glued with glue stick. Bought a pedal bin two weeks ago, after 2 days, the pedal stopped working. Had to return it and to get a different model. I checked online and saw a simpler one “Touch Top Bin”. I rang Kmart and asked reception if they could keep one at the collection desk for me. Went there, the girl who handed me the new bin, could not even close it, it was already broken and she embarrassingly apologized for it. I told her, now worries, I’ll pick another one. I went to the bins area, I tried at least 6 of this model, all of them, the lid does not close properly, and some are already broken. When I arrived home, I checked the reviews about those bins, surprisingly all of them got 4 to 5 stars. I went even future and checked all other anko items, all of them have 4 to 5 stars. Go figure. Even stuff I have bought from Red dot or Reject stores are of better quality.

Ikea is the same price and looks similarly crappy. Hard to compare them.

        • +1

I've got a nice Ikea frame, but I think it was closer to $200

A $50 bed frame is a mistake, you will get exactly what you pay for

    • you can NOT have sex on the Olympic cardboard beds. The constant rocking motion will break the cardboard joints in less than two nights

      • +24

So we’ll all be fine then.

      • What if you are really frenzied ??

      • Nobody is having sex at Olympics for two nights and they doing it one night only. It's a sprint not a marathon.

      • +1

that's why aussie teams left glory holes on the wall instead

      • It's proven false. People have repeatedly jumped on these beds with no issues at all.

        • jumping is up and down motion.

doggystyle and missionary is back and forth in a horizontal motion.

Unless you only do cow girl which is up and down.

    Reviews are quite good.

Do they have double bed frames?

      Maximum weight capacity: 250kg

    • +14

      Yeah. $69 for a reason

      • +22

if you have two people at 125kg plus each you probably have other issues worth attending to besides a cheap bed

        • lol

        • +18

          What if is 4x65kg?

        • +1

You havent accounted for the weight of the mattress but nevertheless, good for people who are into smashing sex

  • Both are sold out online.

    • i just bought the queen for melb

  • +1

No excuse for anyone to have a mattress on the floor at this price

    • Lol I have a 2 year old kid and have 2nd baby arriving in dec so we decided to just put a single bed mattress on the floor so to teach him to sleep on his own (of course with guided help) but yeah it’s just a mattress atm haha so I’ll have to try convince my wife and say can we at least buy this cheap bed frame - it’s not Ferrari bed frame though lol

First a casting couch, now a bed. I think Kmart wants me to start producing porn.

King Bed Euro Top Pocket Spring Mattress $99 plus delivery

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/king-bed-euro-top-pocket-sp…

  • +2

These will void any warranty you may have on your mattress. Just asking for trouble with these.

    • Please elaborate

      • +4

I used to work at Myer and talked to a lot of the reps.

The curved slats cause your mattress to literally be curved/ your springs to buckle or from the looks of this case, the springs would literally fall through the gaps in the slats. Normally with these slats they look as if they would bend the other way if you put your finger on them.

Regardless, will just be a justified reason for your bed company to deny your warranty. Sorta like how your car manufacturer will deny you warranty cause you kept on driving over rocks all the time.

That said if your mattress was only $50 who cares. I would think twice before putting anything expensive on this. This is literally less than the cost of a dinner out like of all the things to skimp on……..honestly I've heard of throw away fashion, but throw away furniture is just a horrendous thing to do for our planet…..

        • +3

I've been looking at purchasing a bed frame for the last few months, budgeting up to a $500ish roof for a king bed frame, and 95% of upholstered beds I've seen have these slightly opposite curved slats.

What do you mean by "Normally with these slats they look as if they would bend the other way if you put your finger on them"?

          • +1

@Jayblesz: The slat should be solid and not move at all. $500 for a king bed frame won't get you anything much of quality sorry to bust your chops. I've seen a few that do come with flat slats though just gotta hunt around.

One of our side projects is in the building industry and the price of wood has exploded, so anything with decent wooden slats is going to be fairly expensive. Like the guy below though, just get a blank of wood from bunnings and drill some holes into it for airflow.

        • +3

Get a plank of wood from Bunnings

        • Warranty would normally state that the gap between slats cant be equal or greater than the width of the actual slat. I got my son an ikea bed so I doubled up on the slats. one set of slats by itself or pretty flexible and they bend the other way if I sit on one.

        • +1

The curved slats cause your mattress to literally be curved/ your springs to buckle or from the looks of this case

I had to temporarily rent a place so bought one of these to get me by. The slats are only curved when there is no weight on them, with a mattress they straighten out. I paid $100 for mine, plus $50 for a second hand mattress and it worked fine. After I was finished with it I sold the lot for $50, so I got a fully working queen bed for a year for $100. What a time to be alive.

  • +2

Don't do it. These frames are very bad quality and will fall apart eventually. Save your money.

    • +2

Correct. It’s marketed as solid timber but in fact is made of poor quality plywood, which is then covered in fabric. Several hard thrust during you know what will cause the plywood to start cracking before it all comes crashing down.

Also, what you’re paying for here is just the bed-frame. The bed head is a separate package. Having said that they sometimes give you both packages, but other times not. At this price it’s just the bed frame I suspect.

      • Bed head seems to be included for the Queen

        • i wouldnt be expecting 'solid timber' at this price and not even several hundred.

Plywood is about as good as you can expect.

          • @tonyjzx:

Plywood is about as good as you can expect.

Most likely some sort of particle board. But if Ikea is anything to go by, a lot of people are ok with this

      • -1

Power move, tell mates you had such crazy sex you managed to break the bed frame. Reality, weak sex, weak bed.

  • "Easy to assemble"

    • +5

      Also disassembles itself.

  • +2

You would he better off with a used frame from Facebook marketplace than this Kmart junk.

  • +1

Just sleep on a futon on ground ezpz

  • -1

These look identical to the Aldi ones. Which I had and when the legs crumbled off of, I tried to screw them back in only to find there was just slightly thicker cardboard where the legs screw in.
These fall apart if you have a window open and a small breeze hits them. Absolute junk and not even worth $5.

  • -2

Don't expect them to last long. All their furniture is crap. It'll be fine as a guest bed I suppose.

    Source: former Kmart employee

  • good deal for those that got it

  • +3

Purchased the double version of this off ebay Ozplaza for a lot more and honestly its held up fine. I use it as a normal bed, so I don't jump on it or anything, don't know why people are dissing it without any experience.

  • The single isn't bad for the price. We've had one for quite a few months now for our 11 year old and it is quite sturdy, even with him doing running jumps from the doorway onto it.

  • Kmart should rename itself to aliexpress
