Just saw this banner pop up on DoorDash. Some pretty nice deals coming up! They've been going hard lately on offers. Also found when I can't order on Uber or Menulog they always have people and the times have been really good in Melbourne in lockdown. Like 35mins.

Currently, if you have not trialled DashPass you can do so and get 14 days free (getting all these deals). If you have trialled before, it charges immediately (mine did)

DashPass is 14 days free then only $12.99 a month, so like 3 orders a month. They have IGA and Reject Shop plus alco stores on there. Had some cracking deal like $12 six packs and stuff.

Just cancelled my free trial that was almost up, as having dashpass encourages me to order too frequently, so didn't renew :) But was pretty happy with it, definitely saved a lot on delivery. Shame I will miss on these offers.

    • +1

So did I, but I just paid a month sub to get these hahaha

  • +1

In Sydney, a lot of restaurants around me have completely closed for lockdowns. Don't even bother with takeaway or delivery.

  • +11

Some questionable bait promos they do. The recent one I fell for was I signed up to the Dashpass as some restaurant had a promo for discounting X amount up to $20 with Dashpass (when I was ordering via that very restaurant). Soon as I signed up it said that promo wasn't valid at that restaurant. Tried a whole bunch others and had the same response, and that banner was nowhere to been seen again. Searching online its a common practice they've been doing for a long time.

    • +3

I've never had that? Not once. I do with UberEats all the damn time, its so BS

      • +4

The $20 off grocery on uber eats never works on any grocery places. I’ve tried different places at different times and it doesn’t apply.
Then I don’t check out and get a notification saying You have a $20 promo to use on your order at X

        • +1

The $15 off $25 offer for grocery on Uber Eats? It's weirdly selective in my area.

For example, 1 Woolworths Metro/Ampol applies the promo and 1 doesn't.

        • That's weird I have used it 2 times at the same place

      • Yes I get BS notifications with Uber Eats too. Reported it but the customer service nobheads were of no help.

I barely use UE now due to fees and increased prices anyways so I turned notifications off.

    • +1

Yeh happened to me too… There was a 25% off maccas banner for dashpass.. Signed up and it disappeared… did some reasearch turns out it is valid on first orders only.. what a sham.

    • +1

I gave up trying to use Doordash. The deals never ever worked properly for me. It's easily the worst of the major food delivery apps.

    • +3

Yep, my most recent offer for DoorPass 50% off first 2 orders, with ongoing 9.99/mnth. Signed up, code did not work, plus monthly cost incorrect. They did retrospectively reimburse 50% off, but still a pain in the butt and they refused to think it was an issue that the code didn’t work if they reimbursed.

  • How much is the DashPass monthly?

      • +8

Nah its not?! Its $12.99 a month? I just paid.

Need to order 3 x a month. I order at least 1 x a week and now order from Reject shop and IGA often too

        • +1

I'm in a few of those offers will well and truly pay the way .

    • Its worth your time. Because the delivery drivers can't read notes or instructions to deliver. They will knock even if it says leave somewhere. Or something wrong with their delivery system

  • +5

None of these offers are that great unless you're ordering a lot…. I can only see myself using maybe the 'Try it tuesday' and '33% off pizza' ones..

    • So, if you used both of those, you'd save probably $10 on pizza, $7 on the try it one, and 2 x $4.99 on delivery….

So you'd save $27… I dunno, I must be a tight ass, as that's decent to me ha

      • It's still good, I just wish there were more deals with less total spend. But I can see if you're ordering food for two you'd definitely save a lot more. Still gonna use those two deals so appreciate the post :)

    • yeah i thought the 33% pizza one and try it tuesday were the best options as well, the others werent that great especially when a lot of restaurants have markups as opposed to ordering direct.

  • -3

Another scam offer I guess. Just like the mc value box bait

    • +3

I posted that offer, hundreds posted they got it?

      • it worked the first 2 days, then it didnt.

        • So you're salty you didn't use it in the first two days.
If it was like the Red rooster deal which had a very limited redemption period (glitch) I'd understand but two days is a long time.

      • The beer one was amazing 16 cans for $12 delivered

  • -3

    very very few options…

  • Only issue I've had with door dash is for some reason on their tracking map our address location is further down the road, even after telling them that every dirver/rider ends up having to call us they still haven't fixed it

So basically we now call the driver once he has collected the food to come to our correct address and not go where map sends him

    • +4

Had the same issue at my place. DoorDash uses google maps tech, so if you submit a fix in google maps it will correct in DoorDash as well. Took about 2 weeks from submitting the change to Google to being updated in DoorDash, with a brief gap in the middle where Google Maps was now correct and DoorDash wasn’t before they then synced again.

    • Weirdly enough always have this with Uber Eats but never with Doordash.

      • Uber uses their own mapping software (they had to do something with those zillions in funding). Not as good as Google maps.

  • +2

Beware when using codes I was a new member and entrees this code and so far support have been giving me all the excuses under the sun not to apply tge 50% off my first order

Non functioning code removed — Mod

  • +1

If i enter the trial will these be valid?

    • +2

Updated my post. But yeah, 14 day trial and you can then use these.

  • +1

30% off IGA and 50% off the reject shop over $25 will most certainly come in handy! Thanks for sharing OP

    • +6

Isn’t iga like 50% over priced? I find they are, which makes the 30% back to normal price. Much better to head to colesworth during special if you can

      • Well during Sydney's lockdown I'd much prefer the 30% off (+$1 delivery I have) to get things delivered to my door rather than going out.

As for the actual pricing, it depends on the store and item. Certain things will become even cheaper than Colesworth assuming prices don't get jacked for just this one day.

    • +3

Beware 50% off reject shop is ONLY with TESCO RANGE, not all products.

      • Do you know if you'd be able to have other items in the order and the promo just doesn't apply to them or if it needs to be JUST Tesco or nothing is discounted?

      • It was for all items in the cart.

  • +2

WOO HOO, I signed up on the 2 month free trial during the first Sydney lockdown in late June.

  • +2

with inflated menu price too, sometimes i'd rather do the drive if it's a family meal order..easily saved $10 even with free delivery

    • +1

Not sure why people have the idea of groceries delivered in ~30mins to be as cheap as driving to a store and shopping yourself. The only store that does this is the reject shop (so they are taking a sizable loss over in store purchases) but even they have a limited menu.

      • I'm talking more with restaurant menu.. Iga and reject shop just doesn't work with me for delivery

        • +1

Again, there's a considerable fee that restaurants need to pay for the privilege of appearing on a delivery platform so yes it will be cheaper to drive.
          Pick time/effort or money.

          • @pennypincher98: Most places I talk to have been so thankful for delivery apps during covid (saved their business) plus if you chat to the drivers, many hit massively hard times and this saved them losing houses and stuff. Imagine all the Uber, Menulog, DoorDash places had zero orders and it wasn't easy for them.

Also the two places I do pickup, i use apps as they said the pay less to the companies and means not having to answer the phone all the time? I dunno, I reckon it helps but also hurts. I figure every business can choose what to do. Like ebay and amazon really?

  • You are not saving anything unless you specifically were going to buy that item. If you going to buy it now because you saw this promo then you’re spending, not saving. I stopped using these things and cook at home unless i don’t have time. I was spending way too much on these offers thinking am saving by not paying delivery or with discount on food.

  • I'm not able to post a new thread but if anyone sees this before the deal expires, you can get a Subway Meal for 2, delivered for just $25, usually $36.95. Saw a banner ad today on the app, location NSW unsure expiry or if it is nationwide.

    • Damn, thats good! It's not showing in VIC? May be for lockdown?

    • It was available a while back and i think they brought it back. There was a deal on here a little while ago about it.

  • Aww.. I'm planning to cancel my trial today and I'm so devo they planned all these promotions out!!

    • +1

Yeah, ha, I di the same, cancelled. Then redid it and paid $13 I easily make it back in 3 c Reject shop orders a month let alone food and stuff

  • +1

As usual, can't see any 'selected restaurant' easily.

    • -2

I click the banner for todays $20 off and shows me hundreds of places? Its the easiest way of all apps? UberEats you scroll for days

    • Is not not showing for you?

      • Wasn't showing up until like 10am

  • -2

Negging for sneaky/intentionally misleading promotional tactics from Doordash, bordering on blatantly dishonest.

My 2 months free ended a few days ago, but saw this promotion so I thought I'd go to renew. Said I had 2 weeks free yet I was charged immediately. Made no mention that I wouldn't be eligible for the 2 weeks because I got the 2 months, but ok sure, I guessed that would've happened. Whatever.

Trying to use the discount code for $20 off a $60 order but legitimately every single order says the code is ineligible. No restaurant from the dozen that I tried seems to work with it. So not only does it not tell me what restaurants DO accept it, it made me try a dozen different orders to see if they would.

Talk about misleading and a waste of time. I strongly recommend people avoid this "deal" (no offence OP).

    • Did you click the banner that then takes you to a list of all the stores? Myself and a fam member both simply clicked, it showed the stores, added in $60 and then discounted $4.99 delivery (DashPass) and the $20 as well?

100% agree on the sub part apparently hidden in some T&Cs it says no additional trials. I too fell for the same, got the 60 days, went to score the 14 day and instant charge.

I got $20 of a family meal tonight so not to pissed and plane to smash a couple others to take full advantage.

      • -1

The only banner I have says "Say Hello to Daily Doordash Deals". I click that, then go to the list of 10 deals but that's all that happens. No restaurants on any banners.

  • +1

Read it as all dash pass restaurant’s - idk about rest of aus but in brisbane I had 4 choices. The rest were closed.

    • The weird thing i came across was restaurants that were meant to be included in the deal and still remained closed.

  • +1

I found DoorDash to be up to $3 more expensive for every dish at my Thai place vs Menulog. Adds up /!

    • Yup , I found it pricier than some of the other options out there too.

  • Slightly unrelated, does anyone with referrals find that the 'Referral Status' page is not working anymore? It says 'You haven't sent any referrals' when I already had a few.

  • All IGA’s nearby (all three) are closed and don’t accept orders today. Very annoying and makes me think the other deals won’t go well either.

  • +3

Dang even with the free delivery and 30% off the prices are still high for IGA. Was so excited for this deal. Hopefully tomorrow 's will be better.

    • The IGA near me always sends me the wrong items. Combined with the jacked pricing it's not worth it. I must say that Uber and Doordash have been good at resolving the issues though.

  • +1

Anything good to buy at IGA? seems all way overpriced

    • +1

The IGA's price is AMAZINGly overpriced! No deal at all.

  • Yup IGA pricing is ridiculous, definitely not worth it with only 30% off.

  • Ok so seems like 30% off IGA is equal to the normal price in store…. So technically you're just getting free delivery. This would've been somewhat of a deal if it was 50% off instead.

  • Can I use a promo code today for a scheduled delivery tomorrow?

  • Trying to check out using the app and it's not letting me. What a useless app, not worth continuing dashpass

  • +2

(5:47pm) Today (Tuesday) code suddenly disappeared from cart.closed and reopened and now it says its not currently available.

-1 wtf must have reached max - no point of dashpass if you can't take part in the promo.

  • +4

What's with this stupid promo? "Unfortunately, this promotion is not currently available." when trying to enter TRYTUESDAYS. And yes, it's a store I have never ordered from. Tried on a couple now.

Anyone managed to get it working?

    • +2

Same thing here… tried 2 different stores (both never ordered from)

      • +2

I'm on live chat to them now. Will see what they say.

        • Ok they are issuing a $7 credit to my account. Took a good 15 mins as they were taking ages to reply.

          • @fLaMePrO: Just chatted to them too. They just told me ‘it’s inactive’ and that was it. Won’t be ordering tonight then, lol.

  • I believe there was a limit to the use of that code today as i noticed it mentioned something about that on the banner.

  • +1

Tuesday code did not work and it's barley dinner time.

  • AFter 45 mins of live chat and a call. Advised the code hit its redemption limit apparently, on their email it says 2000. FFS I knew I should have ordered earlier

  • PIZZAWEDNESDAYS - Unfortunately, this promotion is not currently available.

Where can I find the selected pizza restaurants? Meh Meh

    • 09:30 AM - Now it works.

    • Definitely works, but max $15 off (so $45 is optimal max spend).

  • +1

Just placed an order for The Reject Shop and 50% off applied to the whole cart?
    ie 5pk mi goreng for $1.12 :D

    • For me, it's a whole cart.

  • What the….?

This email is to inform you that your order from The Reject Shop was canceled because the store is now closed. We have processed a full refund back to your original payment method. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and invite you to place an order with a different restaurant on our platform.

    • +1

Oh damn that sucks. I've found out of the 2 reject shops near me 1 has been closed for the most part and then suspiciously opening for a few minutes..

I'd get on to chat/support to try and reinstate the voucher (but also check your refund because it might refund the discount too)

  • +2

My order from reject shop is also cancelled!

    • I know what you feel.

      • +2

Was looking forward to this deal the most!

  • +1

They spent around 20 mins to accept my order and half of my order is out of stock…..

    • -1

      Just received my order xd

  • +1

Tried reject store but checking out got the message not available at this location.

  • I hope I don’t get rejected by the reject shop like those above for my scheduled order today!

    • Got everything I ordered, quite happy with the service

  • So what did you guys buy from reject shop? I had a look yesterday and its all off-brand food (which I assume is near use-by date) and random knick knacks…

    • +1

      Fred and Flo nappies :)

      • Good for you, no shame! Usually, people want to keep that fact a secret.
