    Not that great of a deal, until you consider that you'll be entitled to the remaster upgrade for free when it comes out (which will probably retail for $79 or more given this version's original price)

    Need to? Absolutely not. I recently played through 3, despite not having played 1 or 2. Very enjoyable game and enough new storylines to enjoy it. Gameplay is great and runs you through a decent tutorial.

    However. There are definitely times where you feel like you're watching the 3rd movie in a series. You won't know who certain people are, despite your character recognising them. Little recaps during loading screens are helpful, but not nearly sufficient to understand everything.

    Highly recommended, but realise what you're walking into. There are some "Story so far" recaps of 1 and 2 on Youtube that might be worth a look?
