  • Just paid $25 a few days ago after 20minute or so of scouting for the best price, so this is a great deal.

  • Niiice!! BTW: playing at the moment from a Steam deal - on large maps it's VERY sloooow on Ai turns.

Still a great game - but you almost want it to be over in the last 20 turns.

    • If you put all your workers on auto, the turns will be extremely slow ;)

  • i cant buy it. it says, must download in US. has anyone tried this?

    • You need a US address in your Amazon account for any game purchases.

  • I got it for $3 when the $5 coupon was active. Civ 5 is really really good, a must buy.

  • Can we still get it for $3? How?

  • Will this work in Steam?

    1. You need a US address to buy it (I am sure you can figure out how to find one)
    2. It activates on Steam so no need to download from Amazon
  • has it finished already? :(

    Price: $23.20
    Deal Price:
    You Save: $6.79 (23%)

    lasted 3 hours?

    • yup its dead :(

    • The direct download version is still showing as $7.50 for me.

    • back up now - bought it now for 7.50… you can remove the expired tag…

also when you go into your games download section in amazon you can grab the steam key and register it with steam, im currently downloading though steam now…OMG @ 7.5MB a sec!!! at this rate it will be finished in 3 and a half more minutes for the full 3GB : edit - finished alrady, and i only posted the comment 8 minutes ago!

  • yeh has it finished already? n how to buy it for $3? i got an US address to use.

  • Gone back to $7.50 for me but still need billing address in America.

  • $7.50 is too much, how do we get it for $3?

  • Woah there guys and gals, unless it's changed in the last few months then it's possible that unlike the majority of Amazon's offerings the digital download version of Civ 5 is region locked and can be redeemed by US and Canadian Steam accounts only. I learnt this the hard way during the Christmas sales, ended up giving the two codes I bought away on the steam trading forum.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this is still the case?

    • this one worked fine for me… registered it with steam. -as per my post above… probably worthwhile reading the tread as you can see.

      • As far as I was concerned your one working key versus the multitude of region locked keys I read of over Christmas still saw the odds in favour of a locked majority. A little snooping around however reveals that late-January they started selling a different batch with the format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX as opposed to XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, which appears to have removed the lock. Sorry I didn't just take your word for it, blame my immensely cynical British nature.

        • I bought a few physical copies of Steam games that were specifically North American region from Amazon last year that I managed to activate on my PC just fine.

        • thats cool, sorry didnt know how else to say it without being a little condecending, but yeah seemed to work for me fine.
