As I can't get Mario Kart I got this instead. Haven't played it yet so can't comment but I'm sure the kids will love it.

I was hoping it would substitute MK for me, just like the OP. I played it twice and never played again, depite all the hype.
It seems very similar at first, yet it's so different. I still play MK8 with friends who own Switch.
You should checkout Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, way better than any of the MK games.

I've been burned before with Spongebob-something racing on PS, a total MK clone of extremely poor quality.
Oh man!! I remember playing the original CTR and having a blast with friends back in the day. Might bite the bullet and make some friends again.
Amazing game! I personally prefer this game to MK8. There seems to be more emphasis on driving tech, managing boost reserves to maintain speed. As opposed to MK8 which to me seems a lot more item dependent and more casual overall.
Same price on xbox.

Nope, not even a patch.
Does it still have ridiculous loading times, eg. when you choose your car etc.? I had it on a disc on PS4 and it was always the longest of loading time - not the game itself, but changing vehicle.
