  • love this game,

However, if you're going in for Online Co-Op please be aware there are many crashes and networking issues that many people are just unable to solve. including myself and I tried every fix under the sun. Doesn't look like the developers are interested in fixing it either.

  • True that Deelirium, if you are in AU and have the game we could give it a go.

Did you try these option / settings fixes:
Change video: Windowed: changed from full screen to windowed. Then windowed to full window. VSYNC: off, ANTI-ALIAS off.
Change gameplay settings: ragdoll count: low, gore: off, gib count low, Space after load: No
Die before end of the round
Disable in-game voice coms as its a known issue for co-op online games crashing.

    • Yeah, unfortunately I have tried all those fixes plus a few more.
I legitimately spent multiple hours trying different more and more obscure fixes.
For whatever reason nothing worked, and that doesn't seem to be an uncommon scenario from reviews/forums/reddit

I ended up giving up on it in Co-Op as it wasn't worth the frustration.

Orcs must die 3 Co-Op is good fun, however not a direct replacement for OMD2

      • Played last night with a player from Canada.
Got to round 41 on endless and we decided to end it. That said, the playing experience did have issues with lag and speeding up early on.
We played five different maps. One disconnect early on, when using the map trap. log roller and lightning ring.

OMD3 is a bit better for co-op. Lots of noobs when you can finally find a game. 6-7 different issues with co-op even before starting a match.

  • +2

So sick of all the orc hate…

  • +1 can attest to OMD 2 co-op being absolute tripe. Tried every fix.

It’s always a sad sight to see when devs are actively updating their live service slip, only to completely abandon their old games despite being actually unplayable. Not high up enough on their revenue sheets for even the barest minimum of support.

It’s a shame because OMD2 is a great game and a great place to start the franchise with a friend. But since the devs no longer care, I can no longer care about any further installment.

    • True, true duckduckering,

It is a shame they charge for older games, yet do not support or fix the known issues from 2012 - 2013 when the game was hot.
There is a lot of players reporting on steam forums the co-op game crashes, disconnects. And some fixes to try and a few solutions for some. Overall it uses UPD packets underpinning the packets going into the void.
Yet that said, on win11 it was not playable, mouse scroll speed and fps too high. Had to create a user.cfg and limit the fps. Least this information was on robot entertainments website, but its self service.

With OMDD out, not on PS5 yet. I do not see to go for this version until they do. Finding players for OMD2, OMD3 is difficult at times, bit like a roller coaster highs and lows with a long span between each peak. OMDD will suffer from a low player base later this year and next year. Once other titles hit the market.
