Damn. You're one step quicker than me. Mine was just pulled.

maybe add this to the description: 3,000 BONUS POINTS when you spend $50 on selected items

    https://www.firstchoiceliquor.com.au/specials/bonus-flybuys

    • @xiangtan: You can't add that to the description title as it's already been posted as a deal here.

EDIT: Oops. Misread "description" in your comment (and then typed it in this reply!!) I've updated the deal to include your suggestion.

$150 for free delivery in case anyone is wondering. Need to spend $137.5 in theory to get max cashback as well

    • +1

@FutureTech: Note that the $150 for free delivery is for wine and spirits only, excluding beer/cider.

damn payment gateway is failing (not loading, rather). do you know if Shopback still has trouble with Paypal payments?

    • Hey mate, no issue if you use Paypal on the merchant site :)

      • thanks!

      • +1

And always use PayPal. If you pay with PayPal you can change/ nominate someone else to collect your order. If you pay with a credit card only the card holder can collect, no changes or exceptions.

        • @tunzafun001: Which is contrary to what the site seems to indicate, and to what I've been told by Customer Service.

I've never tried it, but according to a couple of Customer Service team members I spoke to you need to ring them, tell them your pickup nominated person, and they'll contact the store directly to authorise it. Apparently you need to do this every time you wish someone else to pick up an order.

Have you gone through Customer Service, or have you only tried via the website?

          • +1

@robinCTS: Customer service. They said the changed/ nominated person will need to have the original order persons ID + the credit card used (photos won't do).
I gave these to my Dad, and he still couldn't pick them up.

So they advised to use Paypal in the future as somehow they can change the collecting persons in the system. Have done this, and it worked.

I now also put a few names in for collection. Ie in the first name field add my first and last name, then middle out my sister's first and last, last name field..my partners This also worked.

Just beware you can't rely on cashback… consider it a bonus if you get it. I did an order for over $100 a month ago with the last first choice / shopback offer and it didn't track (did all the usual required steps, straight clickthrough, no unlisted coupon etc) and lodged a missing cashback when it didn't track… shopback eventually got back to me with:

"We have investigated and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the Cashback along to you.

That said, we know how frustrating missing Cashback can be, and will now take additional steps to appeal on your behalf directly with First Choice Liquor.

Please allow us some time for this to happen, this process can take up to 45 days depending on how fast we hear back from First Choice Liquor.

ShopBack awards Cashback on your transactions on the basis that the merchant attributes your order to ShopBack and pays us a commission, they are the deciding party on a sale being attributed to ShopBack."

Haven't heard back yet from shopback following this up. Shopback is good when it works… but it sometimes just doesn't.

Shopback is clearly dropping the ball here. Still waiting for my last Liquorland cashback.

      • Hey both,
If you have any questions regarding missing cashback, I'm happy to help.
        Just send across a DM.

        Thanks.

        • Will send the Liquorland July 20% CB details to you.

As per your other comment, I bought with paypal payment and it didn't track either.

It's frustrating to say the least to set a reminder to come back in 2 days and report a missing CB and then wait for an indefinite amount of time hoping it'll work because you know you, you read the T&Cs three times over, cleared any browser cache on the source site, closed all your browsers and started shopback on a new session entirely!

If these two fail I'm just giving up on SB and switching to Cashrewards.

          • @ny8wolf: Thanks for sending that across. I'll reply to the DM in a couple of minutes.

With regards to your order this morning at 10:06am, it won't come through for a few hours. We wait for our merchant networks to send us the order confirmation so we can update it in our system.
As FCL has a popular deal at the moment, it's expected that systems reporting will be a little slower than usual.

            Cheers!

      • not Sure why you guys got negged, this has been a known issue with shopback for years. Look up a lot of the special cashback deals on ozbargain with shopback, I got caught out a couple of times as well where the special discount cashback didnt get tracked and i was told merchant has deemed it wasnt eligible etc. You have to keep track yourself to make sure you do get the cashback and then fight with them if it doesnt get tracked even though you did everything right. Which is why cashback should never be thought of as a discount or a certainty but a bonus if it gets approved as its hit and miss. Cashrewards is generally more reliable from what a lot of people on ozbargain say and from my experience.

        • +1

I know this has been ongoing and that's why we should talk about it on forums like these. But I don't agree that Cashback should not be viewed as a discount. It's advertised so the general consumer perceives it exactly as a discount and if any deliberate attempt to not honor it should be treated the same way ACCC treats misleading/false advertising. If the current law doesn't clearly define cashback it's time they define it as such because we can all see how it drives the same kind of consumer behaviour as a discount advertisement.

  • Oh, the Yalumba Y Series Viognier is on sale. Will snag a few bottles for sure.

Only 8 days left of Dry July. Time to start buying booze.

Who am I kidding, never stopped buying, just drinking.

Great, been waiting for this after the 3k points offer. 👍

  • +1

it keeps crashing on the final payment - saying something like coles.api not loading…

  • Another day and another drunk

  • Hi Rep

Can you please confirm if the cap is per order or per account?

    • @deveshwar0: If it doesn't say "per order" anywhere (which it doesn't), it's very safe to say it's per account. (As I'm sure the Rep will confirm 😉)

  • +1

Placed an order at 9:50am, no tracking as yet. Hopefully it tracks before I go to pick up my order.

    • Tracking is slow with Shopback. But this isn't unusual.

I purchased this morning, no tracking yet.

      • +1

Tracked for me. About 8 hrs after purchase.

  • +1

No tracking yet. I had issues with coles online tracking, BWS tracked really well, but first choice isn't tracking for now.

  • any more suggestion from that special list, something has a hint of sweetness ?

    • +1

Chivas Extra 13 is a bit on the sweetish/rich spectrum with good value from that list..

      • ah i see. being blended then wouldnt be as harsh as other single malt, i guess ?

      • +1

Just heard back from Shopback. Very disappointing and misleading promo by Shopback!

“Thank you for submitting a missing Cashback claim.

We have investigated and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the Cashback along to you.

That said, we know how frustrating missing Cashback can be, and will now take additional steps to appeal on your behalf directly with First Choice Liquor.

Please allow us some time for this to happen, this process can take up to 45 days depending on how fast we hear back from First Choice Liquor.

ShopBack awards Cashback on your transactions on the basis that the merchant attributes your order to ShopBack and pays us a commission, they are the deciding party on a sale being attributed to ShopBack.

There are quite a few reasons why these orders may not be attributed to ShopBack. This includes:

          1. If a user clicks on a Honey, Cashrewards, or another chrome extension after clicking from ShopBack
          2. If other web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers are opened after clicking through ShopBack
          3. Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up, or advertisement on the store’s webpage whilst shopping
          4. Antivirus/Cleanup or Adblocker applications block or disrupt Cashback tracking (Tracking cookies are required to track transaction)
          5. When the order falls under the merchant’s exclusions, including the use of promo codes not listed on ShopBack.”
          • @joyfulpatrick: same here.. CB rejected! still no flybuys points either (bonus points can take up to 4 weeks it seem)

          • +1

@joyfulpatrick: Hey mate, sorry for any confusion here.
This email isn't us rejecting you, the 3rd line of the email reads:

"we know how frustrating missing Cashback can be, and will now take additional steps to appeal on your behalf directly with First Choice Liquor."

I'm aware this email isn't worded the best, and I will be working with our team to improve our messaging here in the coming weeks.
But right now we are in the process of appealing your missing cashback with FCL.

For now, we will need to wait for a response before providing you with a resolution.

            Cheers,
            GYB

            • +1

@gotyourback: Thanks for the update! Fingers crossed it all goes well

            • @gotyourback: Any update mate?

              • @Yomamassugardaddy: Sorry, I'm not sure what update you're waiting on?
joyfulpatrick messaged me privately and I asked for him to keep me posted on the response FCL give him, as I can't make any changes once a ticket has been sent off.

                • @gotyourback: We are waiting on an update regarding the rejected cashback, which we were supposed to have, but didn't for unkown reasons.

                  • +1

                    @Yomamassugardaddy: I'm sorry, I've can't see a previous DM conversation with you?
I can't check account details without you providing an email address for me to search.

If you'd like me to look at it for you, send a message across & I'll get back to you asap.
                    Cheers!
