Big W currently have Cisco Flip UltraHD (720p) 4GB models for half price ($48.50). I picked one up today and impressed how quick it can go from whoah to recording. Nice and light and can get waterproof jackets, will make perfect for grabbing footage outdoors without risking battery drain and damage to the faithful smartphone.

  It really seems good only for kids.

  No mention regarding battery life although I guess 15 minutes then you"ll need to replace them.
  "4GB internal memory" so how much can be recorded with this toy?
  "Nice and light and can get waterproof jackets" what, jackets? It sound like you get a free jacket with it.

  I'm pretty sure BW still makes a lot of profit on this toy I guess 60%?
  I wouldn't buy it even if sold for $30.

  Great price if you don't have something handy like a smartphone to capture video. Just so you know, Cisco has killed the Flip, so parts might be hard to come by, but having said that, 1 year warranty should be a nice safety net. http://news.cnet.com/8301-30686_3-20053337-266.html

    I'm not sure they could be dumbed down any further….. the flips, (and their imitators), are pretty simple whichever you buy…. switch on, point and press record. Some have zooms, but they are digital, so not really worth using.
    These are great to carry around in the pocket, or the car, for filming stuff that might not be particularly important, or, as has been said, cheap enough to give to kids to play around with…. (even tarantino started somewhere….)
    It's definitely a good price
