        • Haha yeah my friend sent me a pic of his Veeam car and said it was from Melbourne Mailing, oh well, no Jerky but a car on the way.

  • +3

"During this time please do not email our customer service team unless it's of an urgent nature as this will only slow down the process."

I love how they say don't email us because it will slow us down. Yes, you are packing the jerky are you? You were quick to take our money and have the time to post on this site, but any subsequent enquiries will slow you down? hahaha

  • Thats a hell of a lot of jerky they are gonna have to be shipping or already shipped to come close to Aug 5th.

    Fingers crossed.

  • +13

I haven't received any emails, tracking numbers etc. I jumped on the bag wagon early as well.
I know they mentioned orders will be delivered by the the 5th but it will come later then that as there has been no communication at all.
Saying that they have been ozbargined and didn't expect it is full of crap - they had 250 orders up for that price - what did they expect

    • +2

Completely agree, they also told us that they have shipped some orders but we have yet to see anyone receiving their orders. Given this is posted first on Ozbargain, I believe most purchases, especially the early ones will come from our members. I found d it hard to believe that those guys still have not received anything, if David has shipped some orders out.

Either they are bsing about what they have or have done, or they are utterly incompetent with managing expectations. Either way, we need to know.

    • -3

it ended up selling 3500 before we could switch it off.
we are improving our processes, again very sorry about this.
You will get your jerky this week.

      • Do you mean

"You maybe will get your jerky this week'

  • I had an email from eCom logistics on Friday. Not sure if it's the biltong? Initially I thought it was my converse shoes but then I received a tracking email from converse today which had a tracking number and I don't remember buying anything else online so that could be it.

Edit: Nevermind that, that's from rushfaster lol. Fingers crossed I get my biltong this week.

  • +14

0 communication so far beside the 2 confirmation emails after ordering on 20/7

at this stage I will be left hanging to dry like the jerky.

i keep thinking about some poor dudes cooking like mad at home, drying the jerky using $50 dehydrator. kek

  • +8

Their lack of communication is doing more harm than good for their business name. I know I'll think twice before purchasing anything from them again regardless if the jerky is good or not.

    • +4

This. I don't mind waiting, but the radio silence is annoying me. That's not a very good business practice.

    • +2

David should limit the amount of jerky on sale so that he can fullfil within a more reasonable timeframe.

BuyAussieNow's customer service is non-existent too, telling us not to follow up as it apparently will slow down the shipment. It's not like they are doing the shipping.

    • Jerky is coming this week and we are improving our processes.
      Very sorry for the delay.

  • +14

I just received an email (after chasing up) saying my delivery isn't coming until the 15th of August.

I would be very interested to see if anyone gets their jerky on 5 August.

At this rate, I could have reared a cow from birth and butchered it and gotten my jerky faster.

    • Same here.

  • +5

Not gonna lie, probably won't ever use this website again to support Aussie businesses. I get it, they were overwhelmed, but they were not too overwhelmed to take our money and establish no communication regarding our orders?

Piss poor for an "Aussie" company.

  • +1

Yes looks like a major screw up with this company… Very poor form

  • +1

For a company established that long ago, and to this scale to the major market chains. I find this super unimpressive and unacceptable. Did we just get involved in a exit scam. This is why PayPal was created. To protect our funds. This website only taking direct card is bad news.

D&S Fine Foods t/a Doctor Proctor's produces Australia's finest Beef Biltong and Beef Jerky products. • +2

Look, I know most of us feel like we're getting jerky'd around a bit… but I almost feel for the bloke (producing them).
Some guy who's reached out to him, or who he's decided to try market through (yes, the person that posted this), probably thought he could make a name for himself and quickly shift a few extra units using OzB.
Well LOL!!! This is OzBargain. Bring a genuine deal to the table and it shall be devoured!
So I'm not going to further subject 'Dave' to malcontent, but shift it towards the person that didn't do their homework… Buy Aussie Now!!!

    • Careful David doing 100 hrs in a day making jerky and any disturbance can slow the poor guy down !

      • Yes, maybe we should contact Mitch Catlin instead. He founded Buyaussienow.

I did msg them on Facebook to see if we can get a direct answer from Dave. I am sure he is working hard, but communication wise it has been piss poor.

  • +3

I feel like you guys are getting worked up too easily. Lack of communication - I believe everyone got an email saying orders should arrive by the 5th of August so let's give him at least until the 5th of August before we expect further communication. Or would you feel better if he just sent out an email every day telling you to wait until the 5th of August?

    • +3

I did not get no email. I have been chasing them the entire time.

      • +3

I thought I got no mail too until today, where I discovered Gmail automatically put it into the Spam folder.

    • +2

It should take 3-7 days on average for shipping which is well after the 5th. With no communication, clearly there is lacking on their side right now as they can't fulfil their promises

      • We'll see in 2 days if anyone actually received their jerky

    • +1

With all due respect I strongly disagree (to 'The Aeon'), in fact if anything I still feel people are REALLY trying to give the vendor the benefit of the doubt.

The actual seller of the goods (Dr Proctors) has made zero contact in here or via any medium (based on posts I've read & comms with me) - we only have a few posts here via 'Buy Aussie Now', who seem to be a gateway market for multiple sellers. That the seller themselves couldn't take 5mins to make an OzB account after thousands of sales seems pretty odd, especially given they knew VERY early on they were selling stock they didn't have and would have significant delays in making deliveries - so we have Buy Aussie Now claiming he's passing on info i.e seller has put 6 staff on, seller has made huge batch of product etc.

Buy Aussie Now claims the seller sent out a significant number of orders immediately using the stock they had onhand - yet oddly I haven't seem a single post on here from anyone claiming they've received one.

On 27JUL Buy Aussie Now stated that the majority of buyers would have their orders by TUE-WED this week - that seems to be grossly incorrect.

On 29JUL Buy Aussie Now stated in multiple posts that EVERYONE will have their orders by next week.

In several of Buy Aussie Now's posted deals it seems folks have had issues with getting communication and their orders out and even for this deal the seller is specifically stating don't contact us as it'll just slow us down.

I say all this HOPING this is just a case of a poor operator who needs to review their practices but if it turned out to be a scam it's got absolutely all the hallmarks of one. Either way I can't say I'll be buying from this seller again.

      • Jerky has been sent and some orders have been received, we know this because we have received emails.
There is no scam, just an unbelievable amount of orders.
We are improving our processes for sure!!
Very sorry again, I would love for you to give us another chance after you receive your goods.

        • +1

          B.A.N,

I appreciate your reply - but my concern is that your credibility is now questionable as you've made multiple statements that appear to be just flat out incorrect.

Super easy example by you on 27JUL:

The majority of orders will be received at your address by Tues/Wed next week.

But that appears to be massively incorrect, yes?….especially given you've previously also stated that PRIOR to items being shipped buyers would be emailed advising their orders were going out. And I can't find a single user on this thread who's been emailed yet, let alone a MAJORITY of the 3700+ orders.

So please understand my point which is if you state something and ask for patience and THEN you're not only not able to do what you stated but it's not even close, well it massively damages your credibility.

CAN YOU PLEASE CLARIFY - you say you know orders have been received, as you've received emails….what do you mean by this? Emails from who received by who?

I didn't say 'there is a scam' I said that if this later turned out to be a scam in hindsight it would have all the makings of one - and I'm sorry to say it still clearly does but the fact I've not yet pursued a credit card chargeback proves I am still happy to patiently wait - like many others. :-/

        • So after 19/07/2021 you didnt know how many orders you received? Also you dont know how much time it need to send orders out?Thats not a genuine business to me

He made 5 posts that got 13k clicks. Say only 10 percent ended up buying. That's 1.3k orders and from what I can see across 5 posts, nobody received anything ever!! Say we spent 50 dollars on average, that's potentially a 65,000 dollars scam.

What are the chances? Are they "ozbargained" or did we get "BuyAussieNow-ed"?

    • Also they have never shipped any products from their previous oz bargain posts so not hopeful for me tbh

  • Hopefully they don't get the orders mixed up.

  • Just looked at a previous post from Aussie Direct for Uggs - Seems that people had issues with lack of communication and late shipping from that deal.
'Aussie (sometime maybe in the future) Direct

    • I ordered the uggs and the jerky received nothing since 15th july

  • +1

Requested a refund via email, if no replies within a couple days I’ll do a charge back. I don’t mind supporting good businesses but the radio silence kills it for me. It was understandable, but as we ate approaching Aug 5th, there is almost no way that the orders has been sent

    • Have you received your money?

      • +1

Not even a reply from them :) Like not even an acknowledgement email when I contacted thematic. I will do a charge back later today if there is nothing. Strangely, I did get an Austpost tracking number from Austpost at 2AM today. It is Sydney to Sydney though so this might be false hope. Maybe some fandoms Amazon item I forgot about.

I lodged a dispute with NAB this morning.
          Hasn't even been sent yet

  • +6

    Got a reply from Proctor:)
Least he directly replied which was good:)

Hi ——-. Orders are likely to start being shipped out end of this week. With 70% off sale we got more than 3700 orders in a 24hr period (we weren't expecting more than a few hundred) which is a large volume of work. We are playing catch up and doing our best. Sorry for any inconvenience, we were totally caught off guard and we tried stopping the sale earlier than we did but they just kept coming in. Usually if you shop directly from my site, we ship within 24 hrs on weekdays (Aus Post is closed over the weekend). Thank you for your patience and understanding. This delay will not occur again as we'll be more prepared next time. Cheers.

    • +1

      Like I posted above… OP's due diligence.
I'm sure they'll both (OP and supplier) learn from this and set some limits in future.

But in saying that, I'm probably being kind as they're still accepting orders… and most likely shipping them on time!

  • -6

Hi OZB, Jerky is all being shipped. Uggs have 90% been shipped.

    • +1

Sorry but your communications and business practices have been incredibly poor - even if the orders eventually do get out I've been left massively underwhelmed by your crappy comms (why is this done in the chat here and not via proper emails out to all buyers?) and stated delivery dates (majority by today/tomorrow - everyone by next week) which look unlikely to be met.

Its just not good enough and there's no acceptable reason for it as folks here are very patient but expect basic standards.

      • Im sorry but we sent an email to all Customers from the jerky deal and the Ugg deal explaining the delays and setting delivery times to the end of this week.
We can see that some ppl didn't receive the emails, please check junk mail also.
We are a small team but everyone will receive their orders shortly.
        Again apologies for the delay.

        • There's no email in inbox or junk, how come this email goes to junk while order confirmation weeks back received to the inbox. and why order status on the site is not changed then? it is still 'Processing'

        • I've received none of these emails or the shipping confirmation for 90% of customers.

    • just plain awful communication - a lesson here folks, of how not to provide customer service

an example - got this response from them when enquiring online

"Your request (14xxx) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff.
We are currently receiving a high volume of enquiries and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Over the holiday period, we will be running with a small support team. We will not be available to answer queries over the weekend and public holidays.
To add additional comments, reply to this email."

      what holiday period ???????

      • Lol, not to mention the below.

        "
During this time please do not email our customer service team unless it's of an urgent nature as this will only slow down the process.
        "

      • Was this Buy Aussie Now or Dr Proctor's?

    • I didnt receive my shipping info email so thats total of lie

  • +1

I want my jerky, not a single update on the orders from emails, any company by now would review this and give an update, not hard to send a single email to everyone.

    • -3

We did send an email, did you check your junk mail?

      • +1

Buy Aussie Now, which email did you send? Are you talking about the initial 'Buy Aussie Now Order Confirmation'?

Have any other emails been sent out? (as I've received only that on 19JUL and there's certainly nothing in any junk/spam folders).

        • email below

          • +2

@Buy Aussie Now: Never received any emails - checked all folders

            Only the confirmation email from:
            Mon, Jul 19, 9:25 AM

      • Why don't you update the statis of the order itself on the site, it is still 'Processing'

  • -1

Last email received, not a single update after this email on 22nd July.

Thank you for your recent order of Doctor Proctor's Beef Jerky.

This email is to inform you that due to the overwhelming support of people like you and the current covid restrictions in Victoria, there will be some delays.

Your order is expected to arrive no later than August 5th.
Some orders have already been shipped and David is busy shipping orders every day from his warehouse in Northcote Victoria.

David from Doctor Proctor asked us to extend his deepest thanks to each and everyone one of you for supporting his small family owned Australian business. In turn, David and his team are dedicated to supporting Australian Beef Farmers and producing the finest quality products from 100% Aussie Beef made from pure topside muscle (no processed cheap cuts here). We're certain it will be worth the wait.

During this time please do not email our customer service team unless it's of an urgent nature as this will only slow down the process.

And don't forget to keep an eye out for the next special offer from David at Doctor Proctor!

Again thank you for your understanding, patience and buying Aussie!

Obviously got their customer service training from Kogan perhaps ?????????

Just saw that the person employed and communicating on behalf of Aussie Buy Whenever has a legal background …. go figure

    • When did you receive that email stating the 15th of AUG? (I got identical one on 21JUL stating 05AUG)

Very odd the OP/seller was on here just 30mins ago stating they're aiming (chuckle!) for 05AUG.

These guys are just doubling down on how trash your businesses reputation……do they not understand that even if folks receive their products late the bad taste left by the constantly incorrect information will make a very large number of people avoid dealing with them again.

      • +1

got it this morning (3rd August)

        • Thanks for clarification - well that does make it very odd to come on stating 05AUG as their 'aim' date.

    • And don't forget to keep an eye out for the next special offer from David at Doctor Proctor!

Triple overtime going on with David on offer !

  • +1

Think that was the last time before this company goes down, just take our money and go for the hills.

Not a single ozbaragined reported getting the delivery, that's not normal at all of they even shipped any at the first place.

    • no one is going for the hills. I have spoken to David today and he assures me all orders will be sent.

      • So please clarify why are you telling that orders will be delivered before 5th of August and someone already got them , when David says "-. Orders are likely to start being shipped out end of this week. " so he has not even started to ship them ?

        • as previously explained he shipped the stock he had on hand and had to make more.

  • I love how the Ugg company is more or less the same (extremely slow shipping, poor communication etc) but yet their deals still get posted all the time.

  • We are sorry guys and we have put things in place to stop this ever happening again.
There will be more jerky deals but the stock will all be ready to ship prior.

    • +6

I don't understand why you allowed this to happen in the first place. You actually had limits on stock, and it was out of stock at some point, and you lifted the limit - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/10758833/redir

So my question is why did you do it? It was pretty clear from the beginning if it is a small business, it will not be able to handle so many orders in reasonable time.

      • +1

        Greed my friend, greed

      • Back in stock, their stock level inventory was back on 5th August suppose and be shipped next few weeks.

  • stock will all be ready to ship prior

Good 1 you are going to Biz101 tactics :)

    • -2

It will be much smoother and faster

  • +4

Can we please vote to ban OP. He is still stating it will be delivered this week and that people have received from emails that they received it?

    1. People receiving emails that they be only losting the item by end of week.
    2. Why would they go by emails but not tracking?

Once again, they are making promises and under delivering to keep everyone happy in the short term, only to disappoint again. This is seriously questionable as not a single person as confirmed here. Plus OP should know, those living in rural areas wouldn't even receive their orders in a week even if it were sent via express orders or platinum. So to promise once again to everyone it will be received is blatant lies.

    This makes zero sense.

    • +1

Actually this could very well be a scam. OP has another deal with slippers. Posted on 30th of June. Yes June. People also not receiving their orders.

  • +1

Just went to Costco and bought Mariani Bulgogi jerky. On sale atm. Need that jerky fix.

  • +1

If shipped and delay is understandable but not shipping in a few weeks is a understatement.

  • +1

So if anyone that ordered say, within the first hour of the deal going live hasnt even had their order shipped by 5th of August, yeah…..

Was there ANY stock in the first place?

Im happy to be wrong and hopefully enjoying some of that sweet, sweet cowhide soon, but faith is waning at a rapid rate.

  • +1

Not a single order shipped or received there's something going on here.
3500 fullfilled orders and those 3500 orders with Nada updates.

    • Unfortunately the score wouldn't be big enough to get on 'Dirty Money' or 'American Greed' .
      Great viewing those series .

  • scam site BuyAussieNow ?

should the site be banned like others??

  • Is this a scam?

    • Only time can tell if tracking provided and postings are done.

  • I think they are just delayed

    • Jerky would have gone down a treat watching Olympics.
