Bought The Samsung Q60 TV from The Good Guys a Day before It Got Marked down at JB Hi-Fi

I did not buy Gold Service Extra, is there anyway I can get the price match?

      And if they don't price match, short out the TV and return it under ACL for a refund claiming a major defect. (sarcasm)

      I'd be happy to go back to the store and offer to pay the increased price ;)

    I've been able to get a price difference "match" with TGG. The end result was a gift card of the price difference. This was in 2019 so not sure if they've changed their policy.
    edit: Seems they don't offer that as standard anymore, have to pay for the Gold Service BS

  • All you can do is ask. If you are not happy, ask for a manager.
    Say you are disappointed and it takes the enjoyment out of using your name new tv. Hopefully they offer you a store gift card.
    If not happy wrote a letter to their head office etc.
    Document names and times of people you have spoken to.

  • Call & ask them. Something like this happened to me at Bing Lee where I bought a laptop & the within the next few days it was $300 cheaper. I called them up & they refunded my credit card straight away.

    • Yes, I also pocketed a refund of ~$200 from Harvey Norman after they dropped the price on the television I had purchased 4 days prior to the price drop.

  • the problem is the mark down was not at the good guys but another chain, IF the good guys had marked down within a week you may have had a good chance of something.

    I get that if all this had happened before you purchased you could have asked TGG to price match but after the purchase I don't think so

  • Call them and ask if they will price match? If not, tell them it's unopened/unused and you will bring it back.
