[NSW] Sony WH1000XM3 NC Bluetooth Headphones $199.97 in-Store @ Costco, Marsden Park (Membership Required)

1374

Probably the best price for brand new stock. I've only seen this price for refurb stock before today. This was getting upvoted at $280 a month ago!
The .97 at the end would suggest this is a runout product at Costco. The Costco experts may be able to shine more light on it.
Quite likely to be this price at all stores.
Grab one before they run out, and enjoy! Some say these are better than the XM4. YMMV. I have the XM4, but never tried the XM3.

Recent COVID case alert in the Marsden Park area. Stay safe people!

    • Is this specific to MP? Are other stores (in non-locked-down states) likely to have the same price?

    • +7

fear not, this is an essential product

  • +39

    $199.97 and free covid

    • free covid - ROFLMAO

    • +2

Casula has also been reported as having the free covid offer recently.

      • +2

Fear not, auburn Costco will make the list soon enough for anyone not wanting to travel

        • Must be a promo "free covid with every purchase" that is a store by store only.

          • +3

@xoom: In store only promo but free nationwide delivery. Go figure.

      • +5

Officeworks will match the covid offer 🤣🤣😂

  • Anyone been to the Casula warehouse recently and see if this is there?

  • Showing as $289 online so must be in store only.

  • I remember paying $500 for my XM2s lol

    • +2

Don't worry. The Xm2s are still great headphones. Still rocking mine.

    • Xm2 sounds better than xm3. Had regrets upgrading mine

      • I don't. XM3 have much better noise cancellation and are much lighter (important if you wear them for long time). I work from home every day so XM3 were a saviour. They're great for MS Teams and Webex calls. I use them basically as a headset for calls and in between calls listening to the music.

  • +2

Any idea if it's only the platinum silver version (shown on the visible costco card) on offer?

    • Just Silver Left

  • +8

omg. At this point my money's on co-vid to win.

    • +12

I must have a warped idea of common sense. So far i haven't been able to identify a single product or service that Sydneysiders don't consider 'essential'.

      • +2

It’s not just that. We sydney siders are an generous breed, we even throw in free delivery of the essentials to other states

        facepalm

        • +1

You know what they say. Sharing is caring.

          • @xoom: As Scomo says - "We're all in this together…." 🎶🎵

            • @BargainKen: Yep, it's great to hum while throwing back pints on a UK pub crawl.

  • Make sure if you're going there to check out if there's any deals on reusable batteries

    • Then get the covid test after.

  • Don't consider these for gaming, the disappoint is real. Lag

    • +1

Works fine gaming with my PS5 using Gulikit over AptX

      • Or plugged into the controller via the included cable. Still love mine!

    • -2

That's what gaming headsets are for, which this is not.

  • How do these or the XM4’s go when it comes to recording sounds quality?

Looking at picking up a good (tax-write-off-able) set of headphones for work.

    • +1

My colleague has XM4 and I have XM3. On MS Teams calls his voice frequently sounds robotic where my doesn't (we both have an identical work laptop running Windows 10 and the same patch level).
I've had all XM headphones ever released except for XM4. Did not buy them as they don't support aptX codec that is required for Hi-Fi sound when paired with Windows 10 laptops.

      • AptX removal was a deal breaker so I kept my XM3

  • +2

Yep this is really essential and gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling in my belly that's keeping me warm as I am at home during a real lockdown.

  • +12

    Essential??!! No casual browsing??!!

And you wonder why Sydney numbers are consistent with no change. facepalm

    • +1

I think the numbers are from a week or two ago when people were taking the piss by going for ‘walks’ with 10 others 50km away from their homes… even our local park had probably 1000 ppl there with total strangers playing 5 on 5 basketball on half the court the other half had another 10 doing the same …. Had to stop going through the park when I went for walks with my kids it was impossible to not run into a person let alone keep socially distant …. Really annoyed me and I’m fully vaccinated along with my wife (and we still understand we can get it and pass it)…even had parents group for my youngest making plans to go exercise at the same time, I have nfi what was going through everyone’s head but others in different areas had similar stories … so here we are! At least the last few days I’ve gone for walks it’s been a lot better… so hopefully next week or two we get the numbers down…

        • Not sure why they negged u :) fixed …yes especially the delta strain which is what is out and about here in nsw, being vaxxed will only help me and my wife by lowering chance of ending up in hospital or worse, as UK is finding out.

    • +2

I was quite surprised no one neg this deal even though many neg the ladda at Rhodes deal

      • +1

Gonna let co-vid do the down voting on this one with a special Darwin award for some lucky shoppers.

    • Well if you need/use it for work it could be considered essential. We're on calls with teams/zoom/etc and these sorts of items are essential IMO if you dont already have one.

  • +3

Shut down the bloody hifi system store!

lm sick of lockdown and currently glady in charge in don't see any way out of it

  • -2

Bargains are essential. It's just common sense.

    • /s

Obviously apply common sense. If you're shopping there anyway, great. Please don't go there specifically for deal.

  • Ah… nothing on WF. I am looking for that atm.

  • +1

Sounds like lack of people going there due to exposure site. Then they give out this deal for people to come back

  • Can I get a price beat at OW?

    • Not likely

    • No.
      Costco requires a membership.

  • -3

Downvoting, similar reason to the ikea battery deal. Really, these are definitely non essential, and Costco is def not the most open space out there in the current situation.

    • -1

      It is huge!

      • +3

So is the MCG yet it still spread there

        • -1

Well. It is all relevant. Had there been 100 people, and the choice of indoor, or outdoor space (same amount of space). I know what I will pick.

Opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one. Just follow government instruction and get this over as a community.

Well, at least Sydney hasnt had a protest against lockdown yet.

  • +10

Pls stay home pple unless absolutely necessary. We don't want to see people losing jobs and life turning miserable due the extended lockdown.

    • -3

It's already happening. Ppl have lost jobs because Govrnmt are not supplying enough vaccines.

We cannot keep locking down the state every time there are 20 - 100 cases. The virus will never be eradicated.

      • +7

It's 100 cases because of lockdown. Without it we'd see exponential growth and widespread death.

      • +2

We cannot keep locking down the state every time there are 20 - 100 cases.

Yeah. The government should wait till we are having 1000s daily cases before they lockdown.

      • +2

We can and should lockdown to reduce community transmission until we get a critical mass of the population vaccinated.

More than 10% of all cases from this latest outbreak have been in the last 24 hours.

        This is not a joke.

        • +1

Government had a year didn't do jack with more vaccines and keep putting their bets on the cheap AZ vaccine, didn't give a damn on improving hotel quarantine . Then media killed it about blood cots. Everyone felt complacent about Covid-19. Then delta caught people off guard including golden standard contact tracers.
When PM wanted to block flights from India, local Indian community called it racism. Where are those people now?

          • @neonlight: Thanks for your pointless drivel.

All of that is history. A shit-show history, but history all the same.

We need to deal with what's here and now and prepare for what's next. Ongoing bleating about the past will not save lives.

      • +3

Yes it won't be eradicated if we don't lock down sooner and selfish idiots keep thinking it's ok to flaunt the lockdown rules

        • +1

because the braindead reasoning by some people is the more they continue to go out and continue life like there is no pandemic the sooner the government will end the lockdown. which is arse backwards.

the sooner and harder the lockdown. the shorter said lockdown will be. they seem to think its a win if the lock down is like only 2 weeks at a time but it keeps getting repeated which tbh is more disruptive to businesses.

  • Anyone been to Costco in other states to see if this is available? Am at work ATM so can't check but might go after work if it is available in SA.

    • let me know too, thanks!

  • +7

Costco doesn't do click and collect and item is not available for delivery on this item.

Given the updated public health order for Greater Sydney, this order is - for all intents and purposes - unavailable for purchase.

FFS, Sydney, just stay at home.

    • -3

It’s a bargain in 2 weeks time then

  • Costco Bundamba has it for $249, still fantastic price brand new and price online is $289.

I tried price matching and cashier said ‘OzBargain’ the moment I showed the photo.

Couldn’t price match because it’s store dependent on amount of stock. Marsden has too much stock hence better price.

  • Sure it's a bargain if we could be living normal lives, but I don't think it's good to encourage people to be going out and grabbing things right now - this should wait

There is no C&C etc for this price, for the current context of Sydney I don't think this is a bargain

  • You know, I just got an email from Costco (VIC) saying it is $289.99.

So looks like different state, difference price eh?
