Pay in 4 - Buy Now Pay Later Plan with No Interest & No Late Fees @ PayPal

5229

Paypal has joined the growing list of "buy now, pay later" providers in Australia with the launch of Pay in 4.

It's mostly similar to the other providers with the exeption that there are no late fees charged.

By comparison -

  • Afterpay - for each order below $40, a maximum of one $10 late fee may be applied per order. For each order of $40 or above, the total of the late fees that may be applied are capped at 25% of the original order value or $68, whichever is less.
  • Zip Pay - If you don't pay the minimum payment each month (or the remaining balance if less), a late fee of $5 for Zip Pay and $15 for Zip Money will be charged 21 days after your contractual due date.
  • Klarna - If your instalment is late, you will only be charged 1 late fee per late instalment, meaning the most you will be charged is $9, $15, $21 or $45 depending on the value of your order.
  • Latitude Pay - If an automatic payment fails and your payment is still outstanding after 24 hours, you'll be charged a $10 late fee.

  • Sorry, won't work with my Amex card (that I normally use for Paypal purchases).

  • I had an Unauthorized PayPal overseas transaction charging $1,000+ EURO from my account, lodged a dispute and Paypal denied to chase the money back with no reason.

  • All I can say is PayPal was heavenly vs the current Ebay managed payments .

  • great

  • Not a deal. Also inferior product to Afterpay given they do a hard credit check.

Good luck getting customer service if anything goes wrong too, PayPal customer service is horrendous.

  • Credit check (and they hide that details quite well too). So I think Afterpay still better.

  • Gave it a try, probably wouldn't bother using it again.
When a payment is due, they put a hold on the money, then a couple of days later charge it again (potentially overdrawing the account), then release the original hold a few more days later.

Also I received a refund and the money went back to my paypal account instead of the card.

  • I have made like 5 payments through this and there has not been a single issue. Not sure why people are causing such a ruckus.

  • any bnpl that you don't have to pay anything on the purchase date?
