But none of these can be activated without putting in some initial $$.

That's news to me. Vodafone and Optus I could activate without putting money on them. Just did it recently.

      • +2

I’m not sure how recent you did it but few months back I had to pay min $10.

        • Same here, I am trying to activate Optus prepaid right now, but the minimum option is to pay $10.

I nicked a Vodafone $2 (half priced to $1) sim from Woolworths 2 weeks ago specifically to SIM hop, too.

Didn't work, minimum top up $10 to activate the SIM.

Ended up waiting for delivery from Lyca.

Not sure if that $2 SIM from WW is different from this $2 SIM?

      • can you let us know how you did it for Vodafone and Optus?
It wont let me through the activation site.

    • I think that's something network specific

and some of the sims get lost in post.

    • Ordered two - got two.
But if they get lost, is that not up to Aus Post?

Thanks, got with express shipping for only $10.80

  • What does freesimcards.com.au get out if this 🧐

    • Probably some payment from the telcom companies.

Any uses for these free sim cards without putting some initial $?

    • +1

Yes … I tried with Optus and it worked.

      • I am trying to activate Optus prepaid, and the minimum option is to pay $10.
How did you activate without paying anything ?

I don't usually comment on deals here but I had to for this one. I got a free sim card from these guys few months ago and ever since that day I've been receiving spam calls literally every day. My number has been active since the year 2000 so more than 20 years and I never had any unwanted calls until I got a free sim card from these guys. Oh and my number is on the do not call register.

    • +1

Sad, but try to install calling block apps might help

      • I reported every call I got as spam on my Samsung phone so they were blocked straight away, problem is there are new ones popping up every day.

      • any good recommendation?

    • +1

If only you'd given them the number from one of your $2 sims instead of your regular number …

      • +1

True, I only realised my mistake after.

      • Mate, at some stage this website required SMS verification, so unavoidable imho for some…

    • Used my data sim number and my own url email I've set for them [email protected] I can easily block/forward to a folder πŸ˜πŸ‘

  • Ordered a free SIM card from these folks before and it never arrived. No response to my emails.

  • I had ordered 3 Sims previously and it worked for me no issues. Neither received any spam calls or messages

  • +1

Geez they were nice enough to email me a tax invoice so I can claim at tax time
    🀣πŸ€ͺπŸ˜œπŸ˜›

  • bad customer service. did not get my sim. sent 3 emails, all not replied to.

  • Ordered but did not get my sim.

  • Sydney International airport also have a pod with free SIMs, on the walk path to the car park/express pickup

  • Ordered 12 days ago (9 business days) and haven't received, I'll reply if I ever get it

    • Hey, I just received my SIM card yesterday. This site is legit, just delivery took 15 business days to get to me.

Problem is that it can't receive SMS. Don't know how people are using these as throwaway phone numbers, unless specific brands give you access to SMS. I used Circles.Life.

      • Seems like Circles.Life is garbage anyway. Can't activate it without signing up for a $5/month plan. Hoping the other networks aren't like this

  • Can confirm Optus one requires you to load credit before activation.
