Is it good as a cheap LCD TV in daylight?
No if very bright daylight.
Are these things going down in price every year?
No, technology does not advance, manufacturing will not become cheaper.
Be prepared.
Oled has stopped going down and led has no major advancements… you are so buying the same models from 5 years ago for the same price or more
I'm buying now for the high yielding investment OLED tv. In 5 years. I can retire on the proceeds.
It didn't just stop going down. It went up and is now gradually coming down.
MicroLED is a huge advancement for LED - same black levels as OLED, higher brightness and contrast, no burn-in. Hideously expensive of course ;)
They aren't the same models, I bought an LG B7(or was it a a B6.. lol)
maybe 4 years ago, every release after that (B8, B9, BX) has had hardware changes.maybe true for the panel but not for other new software technologies like vrr
This guy 2020/21s.
Projector at a Short Throw away price …
This one doesn't include the screen?
no. most projectors dont.
This was probably in reference to this recent deal, which included the screen
Actually it does come with the screen, maybe try reading it before replying?
Its sold as a Laser TV (not a projector) which includes the 100” screenoh wow. interesting. laser tv was suppose to be a successor to the LCD. thought it never took off in that format.
this is still a projector though yes it is not marketed as that.
lol this guy
Yes, by redemption
Additional Features: 100" Ambient Light Rejecting Screen Included
i wonder how much light it can reject. like how much room brightness it can tolerate.
Oh its only a projector. Thought it was a tv proper. Would have been mind numbing pricing if so.
my bro in law has this..
you then have to spend 600 dollars (upto 1000 dollars) on a screen
but its good tho
No you don't it, comes with a ALR screen
Nope, screen included.
Additional Features: 100" Ambient Light Rejecting Screen Included
Thanks for sharing. Great price, will get one now.
Got an error message for Hisense 55S8 :(
You have entered a duplicate promotion code "TODAY".Damn it I wish I didn't buy an 85" tv recently, this is what I want 🤤
I say this everytime the next big TV size falls into a more affordable range of circa $3k, but damn, what a time to be alive.
EDIT: Realised this is a projector/screen rather than a traditional LCD TV/etc.Apparently 60 decibel fan noise for this projector? Anyone who owns one care to share opinion on noise?
I bought one just about a month ago. The fan noise is more like 43-45 dB as measured on iPhone and Apple Watch. Definitely not in the 60s. I have a Benq Short throw w1080 lamp projector which is definitely a lot louder than this.
I’m loving it. Way more watchable than a projector in a bright room. But probably not ideal in a room that is always bright with windows everywhere.
The one thing I will say is that Hisense sends out a “hard screen” that looks more like a TV. It reflects onto walls and ceilings. I complained and they were superb with their support. They ended up replacing it with a soft screen. Now I’m delighted. Check out fresnel vs lenticular ALR screens if interested.
cheers mate, thanks for info… especially the screen recommendation.
I have a recessed wall where I was thinking of putting this, and now that I think about it I WILL get reflection on the side wall immediately to the screen.
Will have a look at after-market screens as you've suggested.I didn’t go aftermarket. Hisense replaced mine at no cost. They have both versions but seem to have discontinued the soft screen in favour of the hard one. Once on the wall, they look pretty similar.
@raghuchary: ahhh, ok cool.
@raghuchary: Just to clarify (just read up on fresnel vs lenticular ALR screens, thanks), what is the screen Hisense provide as standard.
Is it the Fresnel or Lenticular? The limited viewing angle of the Fresnel is a deal breaker for me.
@UFO: They supply the fresnel and I can confirm the viewing angle is very restrictive. No such problem with Lenticular.
@raghuchary: Excellent, thank you.
Anyone know if the screen is the soft fabric assemble yourself, or the pre assembled fresnel screen?
See above.
Is 100 the maximum size the projector supported?
It is fixed at 100”. There are no zoom or focus options.
The code still works but coming up to be $3596 now!
Looks like they’ve increased the sell price to $4495 before the 20% discount
