Nope, you never need to change temps from default.
You hardly need to change temps for a fridge. The app notifies you if door is left open though (fridge also makes a chime when that opens) and shows you status and remaining life of your filters. That's about the only use I have of it.

Go for it. I got one about 20 months ago for the same price. Great fridge and InstaView is certainly useful for our family.
Would be better if you can see the instaView from the phone, so you know how much milk left to buy.
I believe you can do that with the Samsung hub fridges.

Bought this fridge last week at Harvey Norman (still being delivered) but they managed to price match TGG.
I got this one early this year. It has 4 star energy rating compare to 2.5 for LG. Different fridge and freezer size so depends what you need the most.
Mitsubishi also has 5 years warranty compare to 2 for LG. The doors on the Mitsubishi are not the same size (one side is wider), but I don't really mind.Haven't used the LG. But so far, the Mitsubishi is working fine.
