Just wondering why the Seagate Expansion Portable 1.5TB have the same price ($129) with this 1TB drive on your web. Seems this 1TB drive is selling overprice from your web. Even you now have a $99 one-hour deal, I will think it is just a normal price and not a deal at all.

Ditto -$99 Is not a deal

It's a good deal as you will get lots of random videos and photos already stored in the disk for you ;)

Double bonuses for new releases as megaupload is no longer available.

This is a Seagate drive AND only USB 2.0.

You can find the same size drives (or even better) with USB 3.0 for around the same price.

Discounting from an inflated price is not discounting!

At best, what you're really offering is just free delivery.

        • What's wrong with Seagate?
Where else has it for cheaper?

I must say though, as mentioned above, $129 for 1.5Tb is a much better deal!

50% increase in storage space for only 30% more in cost!

          @ Tessai - wake up Charlie…

Where else has it for cheaper?

First page google results - didn't bother with all the rest of them:

          What's wrong with Seagate?

          Let's ask Google:

how about we ask about the differences between 3.5 and 2.5 inch drives….

        • +2

          Let's ask Google:

Funny, because if you substitute, say, Western Digital for Seagate, the results jump from 12 million to 166 million. And if you search the question as a phrase, they're even (unless you consider Western Digital is commonly abbreviated, in which case it takes the "what's wrong with it" lead).

Unscientific comparions aside, a better question is "what's wrong with people who think their personal experience is a sensible indicator of HD brand reliability"?

        • Had 2 Western Digital 2.5", both died, currently on 5 seagates, all good for now :|

this is why I love ozbargain !! people really know a bargain :D :D :D

Seriously you guys have missed to plot.

it is a 2.5 inch drive, not the cheaper 3.5 inch drive.

Brocky2006, show us where you can get a 2tb 2.5 inch usb powered ext drive for $99.

Maybe you guys should look at the deal before b1tching about it and showing how little you really know.

A Myahopping search http://www.myshopping.com.au/PR--369381_Seagate_ST910004EXA1… shows cheapest price is $139.

Maybe you idiots should do some research before you complain to a company that is trying to save you a few bucks.

First comment still stands though. They currently have the 1tb for $129, and the 1.5tb for $129. They then do a restricted run of the 1tb at $99 on special. By their own standards, the 1.5tb is probably a better buy.

Maybe a bargain for the out-of-towners, with free delivery for $99, but for me it is not quite there yet.
USB2.0, should be around $79. It will be in about a month I guess/hope.

      • it's not probably.. it's definitely.

    1.5tb 2.5" USB 2.0 has been $129 for ages.

That's why when this post first came up, I feel really sorry about Dick's marketing and sales team.
I choose to not neg this deal as I think they can do better. Yelling for a "One Hour Deal" should be something better. sigh…..

why not pay 115 to get the 2TB from umart

Wow. The ignorance in this thread is amazing.

    • Link?

Why not pay $69 to get a 500GB from Netplus… why not pay $15 to get an 8kg bag of dog food from Coles…

  • Let's just hope for the Belkin UPS for $30 tomorrow ;)

  • no deal. $99 for 1TB doesn't even get onto the front page of staticice.

    • care to share that page?
(Unless that page is full of 3.5 inch external drives…. which might mean you are clueless)

I've been in the market for a 1Tb portable 2.5" drive for a while now since the price hike last year, never really seen it go below $100 let alone if the retailer even has stock left. I did see an article somewhere earlier today talking about how prices of hard drives are about to jump again by 20-30%. Going to get one just because I am tired of waiting for the prices to return to normal and the $99 pricetag was what I was budgeting to get under. I would get the 1.5Tb but the only store with stock is about a 45 min drive away.
