Sony X9500H 75" 4K Full Array LED Android TV $3495 Delivered @ JB Hi-Fi

Understand has been superseded by X90J; some say the build quality of this one is better then the new units. Also not historically cheapest but not a bad deal.

    Isn't X90J the replacement for X9000H? X9500H is different.

People have been getting the 75X9500H for around $3k when haggling.

      X90J replaces X9000H.
The Sony X90J and the Sony X950H have a lot in common, but they're also different in a few aspects. While both TVs use a VA panel, the X90J has a better contrast ratio to display deeper blacks. This is because the X950H has the 'X-Wide Angle' layer to improve its viewing angles but at the cost of a lower contrast ratio. The X950H has a better color gamut and gets a lot brighter, bright enough to deliver a true cinematic HDR experience. For gaming, the X90J is a better choice because it has HDMI 2.1 support and can display a 4k @ 120Hz signal. It's also advertised to have VRR support, although that isn't available yet.

      • The x90j has half the dimming zones of 950h. So even if it has better contrast ratio you will see so much more blooming in darker content. Negating the black levels anyway.

Sony's track record on those "features added in later updates" isn't great.

Took many many months for them to come good on the Dolby Vision update for my x900f, and when it arrived it was a second-rate player-led version with brightness issues.

Sony's programming team move at a glacial pace - don't hold your breath.

  • Anyone know which brand has the best energy efficiency? I saw many of these 75" + are chewing above 0.5kw

That's around 10 times the electricity use of our current 47" TV.

  • Same price at the Sony store inc. delivery

  • It's not cheap enough, this is last years model, should be well under $3000. Honestly $2500 - $2700 is a fair price, no more! Not worth it at this $3400!
