Very well reviewed backpack and best price this year from a mainstream supplier.

Will be sold out once the Vic Labour Party see this 😂

    • Jokes aside, it’s actually quite a good backpack.

  • Isnt the recon better than the Borealis?

    • According to google:

The main differences between the Recon and Borealis are the internal size, weight and a few minor features. The Borealis is 30L compared to 28L in the Recon, which also means it's a little thicker and a touch heavier. The main feature difference is the bungee cords on the back of Borealis vs the net pocket.

      I wouldn’t say better..

I've worked for The North Face. The pocket vs cords is the ONLY difference. The 2L is the capacity of the front pocket. They're essentially the same bag. Choose the pocket or the cords. It's a style thing as much as anything.

    • What's "better" again?

Borealis is made of Cordura ripstop. Recon has different pockets ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ended up getting the recon recently from The iconic and stacking with Amex deal,
Reviews I've seen have them fitting very similar in sizes due to pockets and people have had them last as EDC for multiple years without falling apart.

I got the recon on impulse in the recent sale that was on here. Its a nice enough backpack but its a bit smaller than I would have liked. There's not a lot of room in the main compartment when you have a tablet in the laptop compartment and stuff in the front pockets which eats in to the main space. Its a bit of a strange design imho. Seems like decent construction though so far.

Borealis? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localised entirely within your backpack?

    • It’s more of an Albany expression

    • LOL :)

      Yes.
      May I see it?

        ….no.

Was hoping someone would make this link, was not disappointed.

  • This bag is heavy cause of the solid inset in the back area. I'm not sure if they've changed it but mine is heavy af. Doesn't have enough padding at the bottom for the laptop area.

    This is the older model.

    This is the current one.

  • Have one of these, it's by far the best backpack I've owned. Take it to and from work every day, to woolies for shopping, etc. Never feels heavy on the back. Definitely recommend
