I have 12. They are a great multi purpose knife. I have cut myself twice.

    • +7

With each of the 12 knives?

      • +2

        @Pixie13 RUOK?

      • +1

So far, the red ones cut faster

    • They are so sharp I have often cut my finger and not noticed it until a few seconds later.

  • +1

    Minimum order quantity: 2

Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months.

    • Thanks for additional info. Was in a hurry to post.

      • +2

        in a hurry to post.
I just cut my finger last week ;)

        Be careful ;)

    • Don't worry about "1 to 2 months" timeline though.. like most items with similar estimated time on Amazon, they do ship much much earlier, usually within a week or so.

  • +2

As long as you’re not in a hurry to cut your fingers - one to two months lead time for dispatch of the black…

My red-handled ones arrived last week. Green-handled still on the way.

  • +4

How do these compare to the Kiwi knives from the Asian grocers?

    • +1

I thought I could just live with Kiwi knives also but a friend bought me a set of these…..and then I bought a smooth edge one of these so kiwi knives barely get used now…can't go back now lol

  • +11

I use these for cooking, so i would prefer a bright color over the black one. The last one i ordered was orange, so that it feels like it has a flashing warning light that reminding us that it is indeed very sharp!

    • +1

      I use these for cooking.

Yuk. How can you stand the taste of hot metal and melted plastic in your mouth?

  • +1

Dispatched in 1 to 2 months. Yikes.

    • +1

Might never arrive… I have bought lots of items like this and wait already half a year. No messages nothing from Amazon. I went into the chat and I only hear apologies.

      • Usually when it says "1 to 2 months", they ship within a week or so.. It never actually takes as long as Amazon estimates in such cases where items aren't in stock readily. I guess they put a longer timeline to be on a safer side.

Try Peter's of kensington - I believe these knives are almost always $7.00 there - with a variety of colours

    • +1

Cheaper postage if you have Prime, but a good alternative.

    • +2

Yeah I was going to say - didn't these use to be at Victoria's Basement for $4.95? Ok, that was a number of years ago, but it couldn't have been more than $7 now? I'm surprised this is making to OzB front page for that price.
I guess makes sense for people that don't have Peter's or Victoria's nearby

      • +4

$5.95 at Victoria's basement, with a choice of colours, for anyone in Sydney feeling safe enough to leave their homes.

  • +8

The green colour is also $7. No minimum order but also dispatch in 2-4 weeks. Just ordered one

  • +9

Ah, the classic finger cutter is on sale again, seducing more victims.

  • +1

    Great knives. Don't chop naked.

  • +3
  • I guess we can’t sharpen it ?

    • +1

Trust me when I say you will never need to sharpen them. My parents have some that are about 15 years old and user daily and still sharp as anything

    • +1

Nope, they are disposable saws. great when you're on a budget. these were my first set of steak knives, they were great when i was poor. Now I upgraded to Shun Steak Knifes.

      • +3

How crap are the steaks you’re eating if you need to spend hundreds of dollars on steak knives to cut them?

  • Great little knives these.. deceptively sharp

  • +1

This is a better deal if you don't mind the green. No minimum quantity and at the moment only up to 4 week's delivery.

My local subway uses these knives

We all saw Mick "Crocodile" Dundee in Noo York.

  • +2

Got one on Friday, wearing two band aids on my thumb now.

    • hahaha Welcome to the Club!

  • +1

Thanks grabbed a couple of each based on the reviews here!

  • Are these not the “free knives” via eBay code from the other day? I rather take them for free.

    • +1

yes they are, anything above free dollars is not ozbargain worthy imo

I got 4 free ones from ebay

      • That’s what I mean. Everyone has knifes. Why would anymore need some and even pay for it? I don’t mind them for free on eBay if they come again but wouldn’t pay a dollar.

  • +3

I've become somewhat of a collector of these since I first used them when working casually in the Woolworths bakery a half a dozen years ago. My home currently houses 2 orange, and one of the red, black, yellow, green and pink. Love the way they slice through uncooked sweet potato and pumpkin, like a Ginsu through cabbage. I'm a fan of the bright colours, too, as they make them easier to find in the drawers. Orange still my fave.

  • +7

Yes, these knives are sharp, but why is everyone cutting themselves with these knives? What are you, 12? This speaks to user error rather than the sharpness of the knife.

    • +4

I agree but you would escape with just a scar with a normal knife but this one will ensure you get to see your blood in good quantity ;)

    • It's all about dividing that final piece left over into 2.

    • +1

Looks like you've cut someone's fragile ego with that comment. Haha, love it when that happens.

    • Because people get use to blunt knives, that don't cut your skin…

resulting in people using their finger/thumb as a stopper…

      That's my excuse anyway

    • Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to see anyone hurt. Only thing I want cut is my grass.

    • They assume is an entertaining story to tell

  • +4

    better off going for these.

Not if I want just one or two of these knives.

    • Thanks cancelled Amazon order and ordered this, cheaper and faster!

    • Thanks.

    • Thanks. Paid $35.90 with a $5 discount.

      • How did you get the discount?

  • Has anyone tried good Kitchen gloves (knife cut resistant) when cutting veggies?

  • +1

up vote from me for the humorous post

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

  • When I click on the link, it’s not the same price as op posted? There’s a green one but I’m after the black.

  • +1

Really good quality. just cut my finger with one of this 10 mins back. the one I got for free from eBay deal last time.

    • Free fingers on eBay? Who knew?!

  • Dang, missed this again.

  • Is it ironic that I bought these to use on a daily basis because I thought the risk of cutting myself was reduced?

  • This post made me revise my order and rethink about ever buying from amazon again. Anyone have any clue about these things?

    • Probably, with such a large inventory and many sellers chiming in, that can happen, I have even recieved open box item once (probably sold by the manufacturer after repacking it). I dont think they would be doing it on purpose though. There is no need to as they make enough profits. Just careless accidents.

    • I never received a fake in 10 years. That guy is paranoid or a liar

  • Ebay has the 6 pack of these for $40.99 (BLACK) and $42.99 (mulicolor) and also running a 5% off for ebay plus. So you can get 6 for under $40 (or $40 multi) delivered.

  • I've got a set of these from years ago, still good and sharp. $7-9 for one seems a bit rich but probably fair. Got a cheap set of the Wilshire ones (from spotlight cheap), never liked the cerated edge in comparison, cuts kind of rough..

  • +1

I come here only to see that guy saying he cut his fingers twice. With 'is it shuckable' and 'band 28' the most popular story on Ozbargain.

  • Thanks, bought a 6 pack via ebay

  • I need a black one

    • +1

      I need a black one

      That's what she said.
