    Also at Sydney tools

Dcs578 is 50mm depth vs this one at 40mm and it's only $100 more.

No stock. I would rather get from Bunnings anyway.

The 578 is $429, so $180 more? Or did you mean off the regular $349 price, which is irrelevant given it's on sale….

Also not sure what depth you're talking about, they both have a 64mm DOC at 90° with a 184mm blade.

      • The dc578 is also brushless and has a 47% increase in power which although is probably just advertising does seem to make a difference in the head to head reviews.

Is this worth and extra $180? Probably not for the home user.

        • I would imagine the 578 is higher power given it's a more expensive saw but they are both brushless

      • Sorry should have added the link and is $120 more.

I keep being told depth counts.

  • Damn that’s amazing. I bought this last year and it’s been cutting through hardwoods like Blackbutt and Walnut with ease. Also ripping plywood easily and neatly (birch and blackbutt). I paid a lot more last year. This is a great deal

  • It's a great saw, price works out the same as I paid last year with the $100 trade in, 578 is supposed to have more grunt but the 575 is at least as powerful as corded models. Circ saw is the number one tool that most benefits from higher voltage IMO

  • Probably clearing out old stock. This model has been superseded by the DCS578N

    • I think you're right. Sydney Tools have it marked as clearance, with not much stock left. I'm happy to settle with the DCS575N, though.

  • I’ll find the in number but at most bunnings with stock if u ask the right person u can get the kit in carry case for $300 saw charger 2x6.0ah rrp at Sydney or total is $729 bunning clearance price is $599

    • Not sure what your saying, English? Can you get the kit for $300?

    • Same price at syd tools and last time I was in total tools it was same price.DCS575T2-XE

      https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dcs575t2-xe-54v-6-….

If you can get it for $300 epic deal there. Please post receipt to help others.

I was planning on getting the 578 as I've got a number 9.0ah batteries to make use of the power increase… but for $300!!!! Will be heading to Bunnings tomorrow to see if there's any left. (Hopefully one store will match the price)

        • Bunnings Notting Hill have 4 of the kits but they refused to drop it beyond $579 even after showing the receipt.

Someone may have better luck than me!

          • @Knobby: That’s strange I never got knocked back as all clearance prices get gut n 1/2 or every store I shop at says we will match if I have reciept

            • +1

@Dex38313: Yeah, that's what I was expecting but the guy said every store decided how much they discount and said because they have 4 in stock and the total value is over $1k they weren't willing to negotiate…. If the stock was down to 1 or 2 they would be more willing.

He did say the manager would need to approve the discount but told me it was unlikely they would agree for the reasons mentioned above…I was in a rush so didn't ask to get the manager's opinion.

If there are any left next week I may try my luck again.

@Knobby: I had the same with my Bunnings. They only had 2 in stock but the guy there said they wouldn’t reduce the price no matter what (I think I got the worlds most grumpiest/arrogant Bunnings staff member). When I showed him the receipt he laughed and said that’s Bunnings Victoria that’s not this Bunnings. If you want it at that price, drive down there and get it from them (about 15 hours away) as this Bunnings price is $599 and we don’t reduce prices ever.

              • @Knobby: Well I got 4 at one store as the manager said if you only want to pay $300 each u must take all 4 I had no choice

                • @Dex38313: That would explain it!

Happy to buy one off you 🙂

        • No luck with any of the bunnings in Brisbane. All would not discount at all.

          $300 is a ripper of a deal!

          • @Bluberry: You need to speak to a g4 or store manager

            • +1

@Dex38313: thanks! tried Noting Hill, Vic and exactly like what said above. But finally got one set from other Bunnings for $300! it is a deleted item, so it is really the store manager's say.

              thanks a lot!

              • @coolness79: Well done, which Bunnings did you try and were there any left or did you get the last one?

                • @Knobby: it is at Springvale store, great to hear you got your set for $300!

              • @coolness79: could you share your receipt?
                Thanks

          Yay, success!

Tried my luck at Nunawading, they had one left and asked super nicely to check with the manager and that did the trick.

I think it being the last one helped.

          Thanks for the receipt upload!

      • Tried in syd… prove is 599

  • Seems the price has gone up to $339 now :(

    • +1

Sydney Tools still have listed as $249, with "low stock" at some stores. Maybe Bunnings can price beat on that?

    • That's really weird. I was in bunnings today and the ticket price was still $249
