Wii Classic Controllers (Sonic Colours Themed) @ JB Hi-Fi $1

820

Found this while at JB Hi-Fi Sunshine, they were marked for $2 but registered as $1 each. I believe they were giving out as preorder bonuses for preordering Sonic Colours on Wii. Great if you plan playing any Virtual Console games or just need a Classic Controller.

Took the last ones at Sunshine but went to Watergardens and they had about 4 left

  • oh nice find, i have one of these, but its a cheapy. I have a game cube controller as well, and its nice.

Awesome find. These are actually quite good controllers, make some games a lot easier than using the WiiMote.

great find! nice colour! and i love sonic :)

Never seen these at any if my local stores on the gold coast

After the Monster Monster (black), Goldeneye (gold) and Mario version (red), I'm making quite the collection of these without even trying

  • Love these controllers. Use them for Super Smash bros. Possibly one of the best games on the Wii.

Ironic that one of the best games on the Wii doesn't even really use the motion control garbage. Brought my Wii launch day, god how I have regretted it every day since.

      • I'm in the same boat and feel the exact same way, the gimmick last for about a week.

You play zelda skyward yet? Nuff said…

      • that's why I softmodded mine and turned it into a cheap media player to stream backups of all the kids dvds… woot no more scratched discs and crying kids coz it's skipping.

  • +1

dirt cheap for a genuine sega/nintendo controller

  • i will tell if i find any after work 2moro morning

  • Will these work with a gamecube? same ports isn't it?

  • Get one of these if you have as Asus Transformer /Xoom / Ipad etc.
You connect it to your Wii controller (which then connects as a Bluetooth controller).
Then you can use the Classic Controller with you favorite emulator (iPad not confirmed).

Awesome price, I paid $30 odd bucks a few weeks ago.

Your honestly far better off with a PS3 controller as its a far better controller with more buttons (to allow a wider range of emulators) and the software is far more stable.

That is, under the assumption it'll be $30 versus PS3 ~$50. At $1 your definitely better off with one of these :P

I can't say I've ever seen one of these before, but I'll keep a lookout.

  • Kotara homemaker centre JBHIFI didnt have any

  • +1

Got 10 and already on ebay for $30 each….JOKING!

The boxes are marked "not to be sold separately". lol.

  • None at Southland or Camberwell :(

    • They do not seem to be on display at some stores, and you have to ASK. Telephoning seems even better.

  • Anyone seen these in sydney? I called a couple of stores with no luck…

  • So Giggles did you really manage to get 10 controllers? I went to Highpoint and they had 5 but they wouldn't sell them to me separately, I had to buy the game as well which they didn't have in stock.

    • +1

yes i got just 2 at FGate. Booked over the phone, no other purchase required, $1 ea = happy.

Now i'm going to carefully spray them gold, stick on some of those cheap swarovski crystals i got here and hock them on eBay as uber-rare collectors items at $1k+ each. (weee)

In true Ozbargain style this deal has 74 votes and one confirmed purchase

    edit: make that 76 votes

  • I bought 1
I had to buy something with it but. The sales person said anything, music CD, DVD, game, cables.

  • So are there any controllers left at FGate or wherever you bought yours Macgyver?

    • I bought mine from Frankston JB.
There were none left after I got mine.

If you go to a JB HI FI store make sure you ask for it, they keep the controller behind the counter.

      • I have asked at 4 JB's in Vic over the last 2 days, to no avail, some said they are all gone, some had no idea they existed!

        • Make sure they actually look for it(on the computer or under the counter).

  • Anyone know of where more are in Vic, Im having no luck, I will even pay double what you paid if u wanna get rid of yours!

    • $2 ?

      • It was a bit of a joke! But if anyone does know of any stock in Vic, I would love to know. I had no luck at watergardens, airport west, essendon dfo, bendigo…..

        • Victoria seems to be tapped out of these!

Hi - I'm in Bendigo, I rang the store and the guy I spoke to hadn't heard of it but he looked into it and got me one from another store. I had to buy any item in order to get it for $1. Just picked it up today and my 5 yo is very impressed.

Bought three of these at Belconnen Canberra, guy was keen to offload and said he had a few out the back, offered me more if I wanted. Cost $1 each.

  • vccox, read your post I have been hunting them down. Trying to message you but says u are not accepting messages. Can u send me a message with the details as I would like to get one from Bendigo also, but will be in Melbourne for the next few days so happy to pickup from Melb stores. I'm not meaning to sound like a troll when I say this but I actually got two of these controllers at JB Hifi Kotara NSW today for FREE! They said I could only have one at the start then I offered to pay $5 for two so the shop assistant asked the manager then he decided to give me both for free because "they can not be sold separately so may as well give him another one."

You can't spell controller without troll.

      • That's true Cuntroller ;)
