ASICS Gel Kayano 27 $199.99 Delivered (Save $60) @ The Athlete's Foot

164

The iconic ASICS GEL-Kayano 27 has received a great update with a lot of work going into improving the comfort and ride. The Flytefoam Propel midsole has been made slightly softer to improve comfort along with first time ever gender specific cushioning. These adjustments inconjunction with a strategically placed rear foot GEL unit and deeper flex grooves in the forefoot for additional flexibility, makes this model the best edition yet.

    • Just be wary of buying Kayano's from Kogan. The last pair I bought had the country of origin blacked out - if I had to guess, it looks as though the ones from Kogan had a "Made in Indonesia". The ones bought locally from Jim Kidd and Iconic had "Made in China". I've noticed the ones from Kogan has not lasted as long - but that could be me carrying additional :-)

      • I bought two pairs of Kayano 26 from Kogan last year. Wearing it everyday until now and it still looks new.

Cheaper at www.runningwarehouse.com.au with discount code SUNSUPER15. Comes to $169.95 delivered.

  • Good shoes for when you're On the Road

  • Got these from Rebel at the same price

is there any asics clearane outlets that possibly sell the 25 or 26 model. Honestly can't be spending so much on latest models if the previous models are still available for 30-40% cheaper.

    • Any DFO will do the 25/26 versions of these for $120-$140. I'd hardly call a $200 running shoe a bargain.

Lets be honest, how much have shoes really changed anyway.

Apart from maybe that set of marathon racing shoes

      Here for example

      • You’d be surprised. I’m a Nimbus user (for the past 5-6 years, starting from the 17) and a couple of issues I had with some of them.

The Nimbus 19 toe box was sized down from previous models (a well known change to the shoes) and was too small for my foot when running; I don’t even have wide feet. I ended up getting another pair of 18s on clearance becuase of how uncomfortable I found them.

The nimbus 21s had build issues. I went through three pairs all under warranty. Same issue on each shoe, the shoe was coming apart on the inner right near the top of the laces. Don’t know if it was my gait that caused the exact same issue to happen on three separate pairs of shoes or what? It was very weird becuase I’ve not had the issues on any Nimbus before, the 22s I have also didn’t have this issue

Hopefully the 23s I just got are good!

  • There is also an Amex deal at the Athletes Foot ($20 off $150 spend)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/633432

Also look out cashback offers as they have had upto 15% back in the past.

  • First of the new 28 colourways should be out within the next week. So these should get cheaper (unless the new one is no good as it's a little different)

  • Can they really be that improved

$200 for a pair of shoes that's been out for a whole year is hardly a bargain.

They're regularly this price or less at many other stores - eg they're currently the same price at Jim Kidd and Running Warehouse (which includes free shipping), and there have been at least 4 posts on Ozbargain for less than this in the past 2 months alone.

Not a great price, seen them cheaper many times. Currently stringers have 20% off so make them around $183 https://www.stringersports.com.au/?post_type=product&s=Kayan…

New model due in store on 20/7 and marked improvement. I’m waiting 👍

    Cheaper elsewhere in many places.

I bought these for less than $150 about a year ago.
    $200 isn’t a bargain.
