Apparently a half baked crossplay is available now and more features are coming when they finally release the Xbox and Switch versions.
Most players are on PS. Can confirm through hundreds of games across AU, USW and Asia East servers.

Eh… this is one of those games where the player base is haemorrhaging monthly. I paid full price for it because my friends (who coincidentally also no longer play it) were jumping on it last year with the bandwagon. It really has no replayability for the price they are charging, even on sale. There is also no practice mode or no ability to just play with a smaller group of say 5-10 friends like Among Us. It's a $5 game at best.
Sure buy it, but I reckon most people will refund in the first two hours like I did.

I can't see why they wouldn't make this F2P once it launches on Xbox and Switch.
It basically has the F2P style baked in already. Now that it's owned by Epic and the player base is constantly shrinking, it only makes sense.
I shall hold out then. Was pissed I missed the free PS4 download last year. I was gifted $20 Steam credit for my birthday, so was ready to purchase this on PC at this price, but it seems there are some critical reviews in this deal post.
Bought this on steam before. Spent nearly 2 hours in the que. Friday night, diff times throughout the weekend… Didn't connect to a single game. Refunded before the 2 hour grace period was up.
