china's gone and banned crypto so if it were me i'd probably wait a month and see if card prices plummet

    • The miners just moved to the states. The bigger hit will be eth going pos, seeing as GPUs only really do eth.

      • -1

There are more asics mining eth than gpus.

        • +1

I never said there weren't, I said GPUs only really do eth.

And they are looking at moving to the US, but realistically just moving anywhere. https://www.cbsnews.com/video/bitcoin-mining-companies-eyein…

          • @incipient: 'seeing as GPUs only really do eth' sorry i interpreted it a different way.

Gpus can mine other coins, some even as profitable as eth for a week or two

          • @incipient: The one place they won't be going to is Indonesia. The cost of electricity there is so horrendous even if they can bear the cost, good luck setting it up. Mining with 10 GPUs would probably be considered running a small factory.

    • Never forget, never buy from Rosman.

      long exposed as scammer hackjobs.

      • +1

Ordered 2 of these from Rosman when they were $679

Waited 10 weeks and was offered other cards as possible purchase if other cards came in.

All in all - 10 weeks of waiting and they had my money the entire time sitting there earning them interest.

Rubbish experience with a rubbish company.

        • exactly, they don't have anything in stock or own any storage, this company is just a Scalper with an ABN, is all they are.

  • Isn't a triple fan a bit excessive for this GPU?

Nvm I forgot that this was supposed to butt heads with the 2070 and that there was no 5800

holy moly i bought this same card last year for $619

      • +4

        Wow so cool man

        • -6

The guy bought it thanked me. Coz market rate was $2k.

          I find it cool.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yeah who cares anyway, if people wanna waste money just let them haha

            • -2

@Nomad2233: Well. I paid a premium in the pre-build. Market rate is market rate. Was a win win for myself and the buyer.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Now OzBargain knows how cool you are.

            Please post more e-flexes

            • -2

@tkdbboy: I might try to post more than 1 deal on ozb.

  • People have been selling these and buying 6700XT's for the same price, as these do crypto better apparently.

  • +15

What? RX 6700XT is only $50 more and in stock
    https://www.ple.com.au/Products/646691/XFX-Radeon-RX-6700-XT…

      • +12

And worse in just about everything else. Bad deal.

    • Absolutely wonderful to see these cards finally sticking in stock! Future is starting to look bad…as opposed to horrible =p

  • +5

    $999 for a 5700xt??? This is madness

    • saw this post, I felt like my browser brought me back to 2018…

  • +3

I bought one 2019 for $499. What a weird world.

    • -1

$499 must be 5700 not XT.

      • +5

Yep, 5700XT went for $499 last year during BF

        • +1

Unreal. That was only slightly more than half a year ago…

        • yes thats right it went down on that price $499

  • +1

They don't even have an ETA for this card. Surely they aren't manufacturing these anymore? Feel like this is just a ploy to get an interest free loan then they will mass refund.

Also pretty sure I've seen them doing pre-orders for cheaper only to up the price. I would stay away from this.

    • +4

This place doesn't like giving refunds. If you ask for a refund they'll slug you 15% restock for a card they have no ETA on!

      • +2

Just like the Ausbuildpc subreddit exposed, they never cancel your order, they want YOU to cancel so you sock their fee, cuz its YOUR fault for inconviecing THEM..

    • -1

Nah I got mine in 2 weeks

  • +3

    Overpriced

  • +1

    Is this a joke?!

  • Bad deal, give it 2 weeks more of crypto crashing and the market will be flooded with mining cards.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504128

Got mine 18 months ago with free M2 SSD for $569

  • +2

    Can I pre-order a voodoo 3?

  • +4

As if anyone needed any reason not to neg this deal apart from "its Rosman"

Which the Auspcbuild reddit has long exposed as scammer hackjobs.

  • +1

    Avoid Rosman at all cost.
    They don't honour any ETA.
They will charge you if you cancel a preorder.
I had the most unpleasant and painful experience with them
Save yourself the headache and STAY AWAY

  • +1

Rosman computer should be investigated and banned from doing business in Australia.
They will put up items saying ETA in 2 days.
After you place order they will change your order into preorder and no ETA at all.
    It happens many times.

    • Ingot mine on time
