    No Merlin firmware for the Asus RT-AX82U if that matters to you.

    Asus RT-AX88U has Merlin firmware.

        Nope stock Asus firmware.

        Asuswrt-Merlin is a third party alternative firmware for Asus routers, with a special emphasis on tweaks and fixes rather than radical changes or collecting as many features as possible.

    My last two must both have been from the fortunately generally stable batch that Asus manufacture. The AC66U and subsequent AC68U have both been rock solid with no failures or drop outs.

    I guess I am one of the lucky ones……..

    I have this exact model from 2019 Black Friday sale and it has been very stable. The only issue was Day light saving in Jan-Feb firmware which was subsequently fixed, that did not affect any performance.

  This is great solid router
  Bought it few months ago at $415

  Work so well with my existing 2 x Asus AC-68U to form AIMesh network
  I have over 60 connected devices at home and never drop out
  (My old Asus AC-68U need a reboot from time to time, this one, no issues in last few months)
