During the research for a good rice cooker, I also added this Xiaomi rice cooker to my list. At $119.99, this is cheapest price I ever see.

On Ebay, there is another store offering cheaper price with $113.1 with coupon PEOFY22 for Ebay Plus, but I prefer Amazon.

Enjoy ;)

Yes, I got one from Ninja.buy ebay yesterday for $116. would have got it from Amazon if I knew it tho…

  • I tried to edit but could not do that because other member had fixed the ebay link and also the title.

  • I am looking for the 1S model, can't find it.

    • Genuine question, what distinct feature(s) make 1S outstanding, please?

      Thanks

      • +1

It's a pressure cooker as well.

  • Is this one that I can control via the app?

  • How many cups is 3L?

    • +4

ignore jv, this one can cook 5 cups.

  • I have this rice cooker. Can confirm it makes good rice - consistently soft even if you stuff up the water measurement. I've used it almost every day for a year and a half.

The normal rice takes 1 hr to cook while the 'quick rice mode takes 40 minutes. Surprisingly long, but half the time is just there to steam the rice soft. The rice is usually ready by the 20 minute mark, but it'll be a tad harder and chewier (which I prefer). It also comes with a steamer which sits on the top of the metal basket.

Do note though that the rice measuring cup it comes in seems to be smaller than the standard cups so keep that in mind when following recipes.

    • Lots of cookers seem to use US cup size of 200mL rather than Aus 250mL

    • Do you know what the minimum cups of rice it can cook?

      • +1

I've cooked half a cup (90ml), while there's no marking for the water, you can guess and it comes out as you'd expect.

I've used it almost every day for a year and a half.

      How much do you weigh?

      • At least one rice.

    • do you have issues cooking brown rice with this.. a reviewer in the comments stated the app only lets you cook brown rice if you set youre location to China only?

      • +2

Sorry, I wouldn't know as I don't use the app and I use it like a dumb rice cooker. The cooker we got is actually region locked to China (got it as a gift) and the Australian app is blocked from connecting to the rice cooker. The ones sold here are probably the Australian or international version which lets you use the app, but I can't comment on compatibility issues.

I mostly cook jasmine rice with it. However, I have mixed in half brown rice, half jasmine rice in it before. If I recall, it was a little hard.

My wife advises that if you presoak the brown rice then it will be soft so that may be one way to get around it.

I can confirm that the app doesn't do much with Australia region. You can adjust between soft, moderate and rigid, or the same with some slider and unlabelled chart.
No ability to choose what kind of rice.

      • Choose the soft option for brown rice

        • Just bought it. Lets see how it goes

        • i don't see a soft option on the app?

rice cups are usually 180ml in Asia, and this rice cooker's measurements are no different

i usually only cook a single cup, and the 40 mins will actually skip a few minutes if it senses the rice is done earlier. I havent timed it, but it would be closer to 30 mins for a single cup

      • That's what i'm looking for….my Tiger is a minimum 3 (rice) cup and it's too much sometimes for a 2 person household!

  • Anyone tried with white + brown rice?

    And it said $124.99 now.

    • Save $5 at checkout :)

  • Got this earlier in the year for about $150 - fantastic rice cooker and IH means it cooked more evenly
    Better than my previous Zoji

    • Same here, I'm in love with this rick cooker. it does an amazing job

  • How does it compare to Tiger one in Japan, my house still using the tiger since 2010 lol but looking to upgrade now

  • Does this have fuzzy logic?

  • What kind of material with the bowl inside? Easy to scratch?

  • It's coming up as 124.99 for me :(
