OP please help provide a different brand or model for power supply. It would save a lot of trouble for both yourself and us if it does explode.

  • Hi Luke,

Similar to above I ordered the 5600X deal as well and would like to change to this, Order TF4641422631

    Also paid using direct debit.

    • Please request via email to [email protected] so the whole team can access/action.

      • Have forwarded the request through, thanks for your help.

  • Will tax invoice be provided when make payment or when item delivery?

    • Physical one in the accessories box, digital one via email on dispatch. You can request one beforehand via email to [email protected]

      • Thanks OP, will request one after payment and before 30th June.

    • Thanks for asking, I need this too and have followed Luke's advice below because I saw your question.

  • which one is Good for gaming?

    AMD or Intel?

    • Depends on which tier of CPUs, but Intel is generally a bit better for gaming as they generally have the faster single threaded performance. Amd generally have the multi thread win.
If you're planning on gaming on 1080p with very high refresh rates then Intel, but for 1440p and above it doesn't make much of a difference.

  • Does this mean the GPUs from the previous 5600x 3080 deal will be LHR?

Also would a 3600 be sufficient for 1440p gaming, and is this motherboard decent or would an upgrade be worth it? Not sure if i should change my order and upgrade the cooling myself.

    • I'd recommend doing the upgrades yourself. 3600 should be great for 1440p gaming, currently using it myself. The motherboard is fine, you won't really need an upgrade if you're mainly doing gaming/ office stuff. But yes, definitely upgrade the cooling!

    • 3600 is fine for 1440p.

Stock Mobo despite being trash tier will do the job unless u have a specific need for certain ports or additional slots.

stock cooler will be fine when gaming 1440p and above, as the CPU doesn't get worked as hard. CPU heavy workloads might make the thing sweat under the stock cooler so up to your use case. If your doing lots of CPU heavy work you probably want a higher core ryzen and a better cooler.

  • Hey Luke,

Noticed you mentioned these are the confirmed non-LHR models of rtx 3080. Can you exactly which model of the Gigabyte one you have? I.e. model / chipset number?

And would there be any room for PCI express lane / a spare USB header to put in a wifi card?

I'll probably order one asap you message me :)

    Cheers,
    David

    • I think it's unlikely Giga models will be in this mix as their next incoming batch is LHR AFAIK - we will be picking and choosing only non LHR cards

      • Ok awesome thanks for clearing that up. So essentially it will be any non LHR card for RTX3080 correct?

As for the PCI e Lane would there be room for wifi card as I will be installing one myself and require a PCI lane 1x + a USB header.

        • Missed the PCIE query earlier - it depends which motherboard you choose. On the website, it should say whether there will be enough room on the board with the GPU installed to fit a PCIE device under/above, in the motherboard description.

      • Are the previous June 3080's going to be all gigabyte?

        • More than likely yes, and they're non LHR.

          • @luketechfast: This is a bit of a concern if gigabyte is the worst 3080 chip out there…will it be covered by an extended warranty?

            • @G Wok: A couple of comments don't make it true mate.

  • +1

Still keeping fingers crossed for the Intel i7 version of this Luke :D

    • +1

      Likely this week

      • Oh damn. I ordered thinking it wouldn't happen. Id like my pc to be 4k capable.. Hence Intel

        • Ryzen isn't 4k capable?

        • +2

if you look for 4k gaming, then the difference between R5 3600.R5 5600x and i7 10700 is only 1%.
In most cases, only 1 or less FPS, people wouldn't notice the difference in real world. 10700 build would be surely more expensive than this build, probably 200-300 more.

The real difference is for 1080p high FPS, that's where 10700 wins around 30% over 3600

  • Do you have any deals on computers with a AMD 6800 XT at all?

    • +1

That SKU rings a bell…did it exist once?

      • I have seen one on your site in past but I do not seem to be able to find one on there now.

        • Hah yeah I was just joking that they haven't been around since launch.

          • @luketechfast: All good. Do you know of any ETA for when you might be stocking them again?

            • @CanolaRevolver: No word at all unfortunately. Single units here and there but nothing to make a deal out of

  • I totally don't need this… yet I was almost buying it

  • Hi @luketechfast do you need to select 120mm All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler, Im not a gamer, just occasional here and there. I will use mainly for Adobe Creative Suite.

    • Can't speak directly to "need" - Any application that utilises the high power GPU will make the CPU correspondingly sweat. Temps will be lower with a 120mm, and the system will also be quieter as the CPU fan isn't constantly spinning as fast as it can.

      • Thank you, I also curious on the intel deal, I noticed the intel 3070 deal includes the 120mm cooler.

        • +1

The stock Stealth cooler on the AMD CPU is significantly better than the stock Intel cooler.

          • @luketechfast: Thank you for the reply, I still weighing up which deal I should pull the trigger on. Ideally I want to spend up tp 2.5 K , with 32 gb ram and nvme m.2 (500 GB or more )

  • man, I am getting regrets after buying a 3080 system at $3k just last couple of weeks
Guess I am that person that bought high (like in the stock/crypto market) :(

    • I was thinking the same, but weren’t there better components in the previous deal - 5600X, 850w PSU, maybe mobo..?

      • I got an unwanted Alienware R11 from someone.

        • mine was a bit less with cashback (went for 10700f) but with some basic mods still really liking mine so far - games like a beast.

          • @blues99: Thank you blues. You are my "it's OK" guy. I am yours too. It's OK! Our pc is the best!

            • @Oauiii: haha cool - I recommend the ML120 pros 2 at the front and paste around stickers on 3080 - I am going to go 2ML120 pro on the radiator in push/pull and install second SSD via PCIE card next.

        • By the time you add the various upgrades, this will be at or more than $3k. I wouldn't feel so bad.
Unless you are buying this just for the GPU, everything else needs upgrading.

  • Hey Luke,

I am a bit hesitated to exchange my pervious order to this one. Can you check to confirm if my order could be delivered this week?

    Order TF4631042631

If it will take another 2-3 weeks to dispatch, I might consider to change my order to this one and pay the gap. Please LMK.

    Many thanks mate

    • +1

We got confirmation of bulk 3070 en route, so I'd say a high chance of shipping this week mate

      • Hey Bro,

I got confirmation of the shipment last Fri and today I will get it from the post delivery.

Thanks for all of the hard work and additional communications from emails and here!

This is not an easy job especially during the COVID-19 and I really appreciated your team's efforts to make a combo with compatible price!

        Regards!

  • Not a gamer or graphic design person, my use would only be for general emails and work, but keen to try crypto mining. Would there be any essential upgrades to recommend to balance profit vs safety ( safe level of heat)? Based on comments so far I'm thinking just to upgrade: $29 Mag Force Case, $39 for 850w power supply, $89 for 120mm liquid cooler, $19 wifi adaptor 120mbps.

  • Hi Luke can you cancel order blah blah blah as I’d like to order this instead

    • +1

      Blah³

  • Hey Luke,

Do you provide flexible payment options? E.g. I pay $1000 deposit to get my spot in the queue and the rest when it's ready to ship?

I don't really want to wait an extra month for the next deal, when I would have enough by the time this one is due to ship.

I can see you have Zip but I avoid BNPLs.

    All good if not.

    • Not our business model unfortunately.

      • Hey Luke,

Roughly when will these be shipped. I understand you've mentioned July 2021? But do you have a more firm date?

        Cheers,
        David

        • Not at this stage. GPUs are scheduled for delivery in July so the systems will ship ASAP after arrival.

      • Sweet as Luke. Hopefully you have better deals then and my FOMO turns to be misplaced!

  • Hi Luke, is the PSU that is part of this deal modular?

    • +1

      Yes, fully.

      • -1

        Hi Luke,

I've noticed after researching parts that the PSU is known to have a lot of DOAs / Catch on Fire / Kill computer components (Read some reviews on NewEgg/Amazon)

I was wondering what the warranty is? Especially if it's shipped as unboxed? And if prebuilt do you normally test them to see if it runs?

I don't feel so great about a PSU which has so many reviews especially ones where a few customers had smoke coming out of their PSU. Possible to burn your house down.

        • -1

Here is a conclusion quote from "techpowerup"

Time to talk about the negatives, of which there are quite many, which you will have probably already noticed by looking at our list of cons. For starters, my sample died during the over power evaluation, which is a great shame. The primary switching FETs blew up with a hell of a bang. The thing literally exploded, and thankfully, I had it inside a sturdy wooden box or it might have damaged something else in my lab

          review here

          Even worst is…

Of course, I sent Gigabyte an email with all of my findings and spoke to the power R&D supervisor, who informed me that they checked five samples which all survived their OPP evaluation test. What left a negative impression on me was that they didn't bother asking for my sample to be sent back to check on what went wrong

        • -2

We've used thousands and never had one blow under full stress testing here, which is done on every single unit to answer one of your q's. I'm sure Gigabyte would be hating that an evaluation unit died in the hands of a major reviewer, but it's not our experience with them at all. We wouldn't use them if it was. Warranty if shipped unassembled is on the individual parts via their manufacturer, who generally require the claim to come back through the place of purchase, which is us. Warranty if shipped assembled is all handled through us, depending which term you choose.

  • Hi @luketechfast, when this deal is going to close? I might need to wait for my salary coming to my pocket in the next few days :)

    • It'll be when supply sells through. Can't put a time frame on it sorry! If you put a direct deposit order and email [email protected] saying you'll pay in a few days, that will reserve your position. We don't hold unpaid DD orders indefinitely but this will mean it won't be cancelled without contacting you.

  • Hi Luke,

If I get the built option can I also get all the boxes too?

    Cheers,
    David

    • Howdy, you can request it and we will do it we can, but we don't guarantee the boxes as we ship the PC case and an accessories box only and they generally don't fit

  • @luketechfast, can you please PM me and confirm the direct deposit account details?

  • Possible to receive an updated ETA on these? Wait is killing me haha - I know it said ship july but… Ship 30th july? 10th? etc…. Anyway to know more>?

    • +1

The update is that building for the Pre-Order cards for the original 5600X deal will be getting underway this week, with these deals, and the Intel variants to follow. Lots of orders on all variations so impossible to give single system updates, but we're underway.

  • Got mine delivered unbuilt on Tuesday. After building it I was disappointed that the gigabyte power supply did not work at all. Appears DOA.

I tested the build using another power supply and everything runs well. I've sent through an rma request so I'll wait to see what the outcome is.

    • Got mine delivered yesterday pre-built with GPU separated. Haven't even turned it on… since there is a really big dent on the top of the chassis. A month and a half wait, just got longer. Zzzz

      What GPU did you receive?

      • I got the gainward phantom 3080. Pleased so far with the performance. It's definitely a much needed upgrade from a 970.

The only reviews I could find online mentioned that fans were very noisy but I'm not having the same experience.

        • I got the same. I can definitely hear that it is much noisier than the 1060, and underload there is a slight whirring noise but like you said… much needed upgrade. No temperature issues thus far as well, running at 65 degrees throughout hours of CoD.
