Very good price for amazing headphones, seems to be a historical low, they're a champ at noise isolation too

How much more bass does the XRs have? worth it for a difference of around 40?

Basically Harman bass vs flat, getting up to +7-10 dB in the sub-bass. Really comes down to what you listen to (eg. EDM-based music vs more natural instruments).
my 50c, I like accurate sound and I appriciate nice bass that isn't over done. I'm very glad I did go for the XR not at all too much bass and I can't imagine less bass being very nice. This is a huge steal I paid double back in 2020.
I'd say its worth it going for the XRs. It's a noticeable emphasis but very well controlled. When using them out and about it actually helps keep the signature neutral, as low frequency noise (which isn't blocked passively as well as HF noise) will tend to cover up the bass a bit.
$120 still a very good price, I paid $110 and am very happy.
thanks everyone for this discussion point … just ordered a pair of the ER2XR's

There doesn't seem to be an option to select Amazon AU, so it's full price on my end
Sold through then.
Does anyone have any comments on ER2XR vs ER3XR? it seems that you can get ER3XR for 17 dollars more.
The ER3 and ER4 series switch from a dynamic driver to a balanced armature, which increases resolution and detail slightly at the expense of timbre, as well as some bass extension and sub-bass presence. The ER3 is warmer than the ER4, and doesn't extend as much in the treble.
At these price points, I would generally err on the side of the dynamic driver, because it's rare for BA tunings to deliver good bass, and the timbral component generally requires a multi-BA setup to get to an acceptable level.
Shopback Flash Deal is incoming at 4PM AEST, as well.

ER2XR is floating around for $117 as well via the US if you're keen on the extra bass.
