R5-5600X RTX 3080 Gaming PC w B550M Aorus Elite MB, 500GB NVME SSD, 16GB RAM, 750W PSU $2888 + Post @ TechFast [Jul Ship]

880
5600X-3080-EOFYS

They're baaaaaaaaaack (again). June 3080 orders have already started shipping(!) and will continue to do so, as will the Pre-order cards from last deal.

The next batches are scheduled for arrival in July, so get in quick as they are strictly limited. The deal is very similar to the previous - good strong spec and plenty of upgrade options available.

Will we do a 3080 Intel version? It depends on how quickly the GPUs sell through - the last deal sold out in 5 hours.

Ryzen 5 5600X | RTX 3080 10GB Gaming PC: $2888 after 5600X-3080-EOFYS

  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6c/12t processor
  • 120mm liquid cooler [240 upgrades available]
  • RTX 3080 10GB (brand/model may vary - scheduled for July arrival - guaranteed Gigabyte upgrade $100)
  • Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite motherboard [Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AX, MSI X570-A Pro or Gigabyte X570 UD non WiFi (request preference in notes) and Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi upgrades available)
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM (brand/model may vary)
  • 500GB NVME m.2 SSD (Crucial/ADATA/Gigabyte in use)
  • Gigabyte P750G 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU
  • MSI MAG Forge 100R RGB Case (New MSI Gungnir 111M case upgrade (pictured): $59)

Note on LHR models: Going by the NVIDIA website, our understanding is 3000 series card manufacturing is moving to LHR from May this year. Given that the distribution changeover is happening right now (LHR cards are coming into the country), there is a decent chance the cards for this deal (scheduled for July) we receive will be LHR models, or at least a mixture before it swaps to all-LHR. That's as far as our insight extends. We not in a position to guarantee one way or the other - you can request a non LHR model via the Order Notes, and we will do our best, but if you 100% want a non-LHR model, we can't guarantee it.

The 3080 cards from the previous deal are confirmed non-LHR.

Cheers
Luke

  • PSU dropped from 850w to 750w?

    • +1

Yes, the base PSU is now a 750. Part of the reason is supply related, part of the reason is that we had R9 available last time which paired with a 3080 and LC really need 850W. 5900X is not an upgrade option on this build at present.

    • Just throwing this out there regarding that Gigabyte PSU 🔥 - not sure how common it is.

      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChIs72whgZI9w6d6FhwGGHA/com…

      • What about Gigabyte AORUS GP-AP850GM?
        I got a aorus model.
Tried to compare the design of both, but couldn't find a tear down of GP-P850GM.

    • +3

System is around $1000-1100 from what I can tell. $1700 for a 3080 is "cheap" in the current climate.

      • So I can buy this. Swap my current 6 month old MSI 3xfan 2070Super on it, take the 3080 and put it in my gaming desktop and sell this for $1700-1800?
Then I've got a 3080 for around 1000-1200? I might just do that actually

        • -1

Good luck selling a build with 2070 super for $1800.

          • -1

@murkywater: Considering I sold the bottom of a range MSI twin fan 2070super for $675 last month. I'd say chances are good

    • +12

i think you're angry at the wrong person

    • +2

Well i sold my 6 month old 3080 on gumtree last night for 2k. sold within 12 hours of listing. Market is what it is

      • +6

yeah 2k - you sold cheap my friend

        • +4

Yeah. Not trying to gouge tbh. I bought for 1600. Someone else can enjoy the card

    • +3

Um.. the 3080 market cost is actually $2.5k to $3k right now - I'd argue that's a really good price considering the current shortages and price increases.

    • A 3080 is $2.7k - $3.3k +

So you're basically buying a 3080 and getting the other parts for free.

    • +3

Now this is how a deal should look like.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/566770

      • God damn! The good ol' days. It's like a dream.

      • Things change in 9 months. If you're holding out for those days wait to obviously

  • +2

Which Gigabyte model is the $99 upgrade for the 3080?

I'm nearly better off buying a full system, even though my current CPU/mobo/etc is still going strong 3 years later.

  • What's the different between 3070ti and 3080??

    • +3

about 20-30% faster, depends on the game and resolution. 3070Ti is terrible value, if you're just comparing MSRP

    • +12

      10
      and no ti

    • No mining with the 3070Ti

  • +9

    guys hold on

GPU price has been reduced worldwide.

Wait 2-3 months and they might drop to RRP

    • +19

Can confirm I manufacture GPUs for a living

      • +32

Can confirm - as Pandabargains boss he does make GPU's (low end ones). Get back to work, worldwide GPU shortage and you're commenting on forums!

    • +1

Wait 2-3 months and they might drop to RRP

yea but they'll still be out of stock :(

      • wat did I say just 1 week past price already dropped

    • and they might not

  • +6

    Hi Luke,

Are these RTX3080's the new ones with the hash limiters on them?

Do you also have matx case? And a matx mobo with onboard wifi that doesn't cost an extra 150?

    Cheers

    • +1

only TIE have has limiters, not old original 3080s

      • +1

That's not true. Galax and Zotac has the new chipsets of 3080s with LHR

        • thats good but i doubt these are the newer cards….leave it up to OP to answer then :) sorry

          • @botchie: Today, we’re taking additional measures by applying a reduced ETH hash rate to newly manufactured GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards. These cards will start shipping in late May.

    • +1

I've added a note to the deal post regading LHR.

We don't have any MATX cases or WiFi mobos at that pricepoint sorry!

      • -1

Do these deals come with complimentary game redemptions?

      • Damn :( I wish i got that June one then :(

  • +1

Kicking myself for waiting until I went back home to order last time this was up - I've ordered this at work now!

    • +1

      I just did the same!

    • +4

wow, and you didnt even check it with the mrs…brave man

      • Already checked - it was an pending order for when this deal surfaced again XD

      • Parole revoked….

    • +3

      iwillpray4you

I hope your missus won't kill you

  • Oh no now I'm conflicted. This or the i7-10700kf.

    • this, imo: go 11700k, 5600x, 10700k

      • You'd put 5600x over 10700k?

        • well depends on your exact use case, and the current prices of each, since they are quite similar but for me and atm (or at least; the last prices I saw).

    • Wouldn't the intel be at least 4k playback capable?

      • Not actually a concern for me.

  • -4

Dell was selling the 3080 alienware with 11900f 32gb for 3450 after lovekeanu code just a few days ago. This isn't a great price.

    • and no LHR on the Dell version.

    • U just realised now? Only tech fast fan boi thinks this is good price…..
Other competitors put 1 tb, tech fast just increase 20 gb from their fave 480 g to 500 g hdd.lol

      • exactly, if you were to make the upgrades so it is a comparable build, this turns out to be even more expensive than the Dell.

    • and someone on here mentioned the other day his Dell order has now been pushed out to november….

  • +3

    Luke,

    1. LHR cards?
    2. Any case (happy to pay the upgrade) that can actually fit an optical drive and 4x3.5"? These tiny cases are killing me..
    • Or you could buy an external usb optical for under $30.

      • I wish to have specific optical drives.

        • Ahhh, fair enough.

    • 1) I've updated the deal above with a statement on LHR.
      2) Not from us, sorry!

  • +5

Hi Luke, just waiting on your clarification about the card being LHR or not before pulling the trigger

    • +2

I've updated the deal above with a statement on LHR

  • Ok so it seems the way to get a good graphics card is ordering a whole PC build, I'll be in the market next year I think!

  • YO!

If i GOT a 3070ti deal yesterday is it possible to switch without this one running out? How do i do that , do i confirm this order and then request for this new one?

Cant find a phone number to call :( this deal will run otu before i contact someone

    • +1

The only way we can manage this is to order the new one and request a cancellation on the previous one - internal swaps muck around iwth fast-selling stock too much, sorry!

      • If ive alreeady sent money will it be refunded if i cancel now to order this ?>

        • Sorry what i mean to say is.. am i screwed?

like your can policy says it gives me a coupon but would it be too late to use it since its 525 on a Friday arvo?

Sent an email to support , would love contact but not expecting it etc. I AM trying to spend more money :)

Cancellations can be handled in two ways:
          1) Order cancelled and refund issued, minus a 25% restocking fee.
          2) Order cancelled and a credit for the full amount provided, in the form of a coupon code to use on our website at any other time. This can be used in one full amount or multiple partial amounts.
We strongly recommend you consider this cancellation policy carefully before finalising your purchase, as it is not negotiable.

        • +3

The best way will be to place the new orders another Direct Deposit order, and just transfer the balance owing. So Put in a new order, email [email protected] and say cancel the original order, and we'll mark the new one as paid.

          • @luketechfast: I dont know who downvoted that but thank you for supplying me with the answer i needed and didnt expect to get on friday afternoon. I didnt expect that. Good work luke, got a happy customer here.

  • +2

Not sure id buy a 2900 dollar 3080 system with LHR. The 3070ti offering is probably a better value proposition for those who don't care about mining.

The ship sailed long ago for those looking for good mining/value proposition on these cards now. With more LHR cards coming into play I would expect to see the price of those get closer to RRP over coming months as a result.

Advertised Non LHR cards (particularly 3070 & 3060ti) will continue to sell out before they get anywhere near RRP.

    • Wonder if non-LHR cards will see price increases on the used market

      • +1

Time will tell. I predict them to remain solidly above rrp at least until ethereum mining profit drops off (it already did significantly compared to 2 months ago). Perhaps other gpu algorithms will become more profitable but only time will tell. Also depends what nvidia decides to do with mining and the 4xxx series.

  • +2

    Hi Luke,
Can I make an order and cancel if its a LHR model?

    Thanks

    • +1

If it's built, no, because the work has gone into it, so there would be a restocking fee. You would need to specifically say do not build with LHR model.

      • Hi Luke, thank you for that and I just wanted to confirm that if I order with the unassembled option ticked and note in the order that I would like to cancel the order for a full-refund if a LHR card is only available, then I will get a full refund?

        • +1

          Yep

  • +2

How long will this insane prices will last for GPUs. Will waiting for another 6months would be enough?
Remember the first 3080 deal lukefast had. $1990 for 3080 with R5-3600. Now its almost $1000 extra for a similar system.

    • +3

They will last as long as retailers and wholesalers are making good sales at these prices, once demand drops (which it will - most miners worth a grain of salt got their cards early and wouldn't poke a stick at LHR or current prices for non LHR). This is evident by the people in this thread asking about cancelling if its LHR.

My personal prediction is that LHR cards and Ti variants will get much much closer to RRP over the coming months as demand for those at inflated prices will be pretty low.

Non LHR cards will not get back to RRP for this gen - assuming manufacturers continue to make them (I know If i were nvidia I would be pumping out as many non LHR as possible and keeping LHR cards as a minority fanservice card for gamers).

The biggest losers in all this are probably any chumps who got scalped for a 5 year old used gpu or desktop pc at above RRP. Why anyone would buy old gen parts above rrp is beyond me but they appear to be selling.

  • I can see this becoming a PITA for shops selling built systems, and then having cancelled orders all cause LHR.

This will keep the prices high

    • +2

      Certainly new territory.

  • +3

My graphics card was DoA and they sent me a replacement via mail that blue screened when under heavy load. They took the system back for service and it's on its way back now. It's been frustrating having the issues but TechFasts support went above and beyond to help me out.

    Very impressed.

    • I hope they're saving a non-LHR for you.. otherwise I'd be pissed!

      • Is the only difference with the LHR for Crpyto? Because I wasn't planning on mining anyway.

        • Yeah

And resale value.. Tho that wouldn't matter to me

But i was buying for gaming and was gunna mine on the side just to offset the stupid cost (installing solar soon)

  • All you people wanting non-LHR cards. What will you mine once ethereum switches to staking?

    • +1

Maybe nothing but it helps pay for the card in the interim I guess.

  • +1

Luke, possible to offer a Ryzen 7 5800x upgrade?

    • No supply in the short term forecast unfortunately.

  • remind me when I can get a 3900 build for under $1500

    • +1

i think you missed a zero

    • Why do you want a last gen CPU? Im sure you could easy find one in that price range.

  • +1

I wish they would not call them Gaming PCs. Makes it difficult to write them off your tax for your home office when the receipt says gaming pc :)

    • +1

If you ask they have been willing to tweak the wording in the past

    • Title can definitely be what you need it to be

  • Will there be an Intel system with the 3080 Luke?

    • There's a pretty good chance one will drop tomorrow yep

  • Hi Luke,

Any chance of another 3080 deal soon? I wasn't able to scramble the money fast enough for this deal.

    • Working on it!

      • Not OP but these are still available, right? Just not further discounted beyond $3088?

I bought the AW3821DW when it was on sale with an ETA of early August but I don't actually own a gaming PC. So I probably need to order one soon.
