The rents in the city are crazy low at the moment
Owners holding onto their "investment" thinking they'll get their money back
You can rent a decent apartment for about $350/week, $450 if you want two bedrooms
LOL: enjoy your cramped overpriced apartment during the next lockdown while university goes back to remote learning…
$500 a week for a 15 sq. m shoebox!! haha.
Will I get the voucher if I book just 1 week in semester 2 or is it a contract thing
Looks like for whole semester
From T&C:
"The subsidy will be issued to successful applicants on 1stFebruary 2022."
That's a long wait..
If they are still afloat
Fair chance a lot of businesses fail without any income and this $1000 would not be paid if that happens
This is terrible you can get a ~60 sqm one bedroom apartment in my building 1.5km form the CBD for $300 per week. Even pre covid it was only $350.
not really fair comparing a building almost smack bang in the middle of the city with anything outside the city block though…
not that i disagree with you at all.
What a rip off. Looks like a nice prison cell. Much better deals to be had elsewhere.
Stock.
Is that like GME, or like a cow, or what?
I think it's code for pot.
Goats!
Scape Goats!
JOKE POST? $475 for a studio when you can get a 2BHK with car park right next to RMIT for the same price?
2BHK = two bedrooms, hall and kitchen.
I'd never thought a hall would be a feature to mention, but makes sense.
Who's Negging these?
If it looks like spam
Smells like spam
Sounds like spam
Then generally it is spam
International students are no longer taking them up on their sub par living conditions so they have to diversify onto Ozbargain.
$65/day for a 14sqm shoebox. The plunging rental market i feel would be eating into a fair chunk of these guy's profits.
Sheesh that would be depressing. Do the developers not think of the people who actually use these?
Nope, I bet they call them profit centres and not people
I'm not sad at all that the pandemic has exposed them
Isn't it for people who can't rent a regular apartment? Because they're from overseas, they're young students, no real money on their accounts and not much work history? Just thinking.
You're joking?? Literal shoebox studios and you're expecting full size apartment rates.
man, crazy, even the smallest/starting from ($334) is like almost double my mortgage…
guess if you want to live in the CBD with no space though…
*cheapest in the link was like 475 per week though, which is comfortably over double my mortgage.
Im sure prisoners cells are almost bigger than this!
