I've loved Puyo Puyo since Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine on Megadrive, it's a shame there's no version available on Android for playing on the go. This is the next best thing.
I've been watching the prices for awhile and this is by far the best price so far.
Puyo Puyo Champions is also lowest price ever $4.48, but I recommend getting Puyo Puyo Tetris for more content.

How does this compare to the original? I only really use it for local multiplayer - are there enough changes to justify the buy?
if you only play local, then no, def not a needed buy. online is ok but i find local is where the enjoyment is really at
the new one also adds special abilities which i think destroy the game and i always keep it off.
so unless you REALLY LIKE story mode, just stick to the original.
edit: the added training mode is pretty good but Im a noob. teaches you stuff like t spins and things
