RTX 3060 models with similar specs (better from a CPU perspective as well) are within grasp of this price point. Investing in that updated tech will give you substantially better performance and battery life for very little additional outlay.

From a gaming perspective, you can get 3060 models at $1300 on sale, so this isn't good value. As with other recent 20 series deals, please price compare to 30 series offerings before posting.

@jazzwolf - can you please provide examples of what you're referring to.

      Thanks

Only example I could find was this one. Pretty terrible CPU + RAM to reach that price point so not really something I would consider.

        Acer Nitro 5 15.6-Inch i5-10300H/8GB/512GB SSD/RTX3060 6GB Laptop $1298 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/629142

It’s all about the TDP rating though. This is a good deal for a Legion, checkout the reviews and you will see how good the cooling is on this that makes it shine.

I haven’t seen any 30 series under 2k with decent TDP rating.

The Legion Pro is also on special with AMD 5800H and 3060 RTX.

      • The legion is good, for 2020, i dont reckon that it is worth the price tag in 2021. the gigabyte g5 kc, priced at 1799 normallym, comes with 10500h which is a ever so slightly downscaled 10750h, and a 105w 3060, not max but it will beat out even a max powered 2060, and it uses a tried and true clevo chasis so i doubt cooling will be insufficient.

It's normally 1799 and have been on sale for 1649 before So i think its worth it to wait for it to go on sale than a gen old machine.

Was going to get this but the terrible battery life turned me against it, got a slim 5i at a steal instead.

    • Is the steal still available? I'm interested in something with decent battery life

  • I bought this last time it was this price, and I'm really happy with it. The package is more than the sum of its parts. I looked at other machines on sale, but this was the best solid all rounder at this price.
    Very well built too.
I would have considered the AMD based 5pro, but the lead time was horrific… September onwards

    • That's not the true lead time… it is literally a placeholder. Plenty of people given 10 to 12 weeks have received within 4 weeks.

I received my Legion 7 in just over 2 weeks even though was given August 31st shipping and Sep delivery.

  • I have the same specs but in the 5pi model (no webcam, but metal construction).

The only time I've had overheating issues is when I was playing disco Elysium (of all games). The frame rate was running uncapped and after 30 mins of play it seized and rebooted.

No such issues playing destiny, doom eternal and many others.

I'd definitely buy a legion again

  • Got one for $1424 by punching in "GAME50".
I think its pretty good deal based on the configuration. Now waiting for it to show up :)

    • Hey mate. How were you able to get it down to $1424?
I tried GAME50 on the same ebay link and it didnt work :(

      • I got it from Lenovo site directly.
