Nice, been waiting for the reusable straws to pop up on ozbargain. Thanks for the heads up.
be careful of the metal straws..

Personally, I don't think I would like to keep metal straws, keeping them clean inside would be a challenge and won't be hygenic in the long run.
i've been seeing these openable (is that even a word?) silicone straws on social media for the past wee while.
i finally bit the bullet and bought them the other day. should hopefully get them in the next week or so
Any comment on the steel pegs? Won't they go rusty after rains?
Stainless steel, so they resist rusting due to other elements being mixed into the steel. "Marine grade" stainless steel has much higher levels of these other elements added, leading to much higher resistance to corrosion. The metal is made for avoiding corrosion in harsh (i.e. marine) environments. Mine have stayed perfect since I got them last year and I leave them in a basket outside (kind of in the shade, but they get a bit wet).
TL;DR: No, they won't, that's their purpose.
Bought some from ebay, a 60 pack and havent looked back!
My reusable straws I bought last time from Aldi, all the coloured stuff started peeling off after two uses. Super disappointed.
Going to stock up on some more pegs :) got 2 packs last year but it's not quite enough to completely fill the outdoor line.
Man those steel pegs, branded my fingers when using them last summer. Also not very grippy when fingers are wet, I hated mine.
Any thoughts on SodaStream? Have been buying a lot of soda water recently.
1x canister refill is $20 usually, makes 40L of carbonated drinks, so 50c/L plus cost for whatever cordial etc you put in.
1.25L of soda water is $1 (it went up? Dang) from coles or Woolies, so 80c/L and you can get it with flavours pre mixed.
I don't see the value in a sodastream, plus it doesn't seem to do carbonation as well as store bought drinks. So meh, overrated.
Its great for those who downvoted the Palestine charity bundle
Sodastream is great. You can get refills (cylinder exchange) at petrol stations now for $19. Less waste (instead of constantly recycling plastic bottles).
The best thing about these Aldi catalog deals is browsing the Imgur posts afterwards
Do these usually sell out quick? Can I still nab one on Monday since there's one near work?
Bought the previous Aldi Thermos deal 2 years ago. Metal lid/cup on the 1L flask a little dented but heat retention still very good, still very hot after 10-12 hours. Happy with mine and will buy more.
