    well there was a deal until it was sold out, it had been on the site for well over a day, so i assumed there were a lot more in stock than there was.

  I notice quite often on Amazon, some items dropped prices much lower than usual, after 1 or 2 are sold, the price returned to normal. Must be some sort of Amazon technique to attract Google search to kick start sales.
