So it's a limited edition unique to Australia, called root beer, deeper the fact we don't call it root beer here…
Its the colloquial term for the rolex which is very similar in colour and style hence the relation. Along with hulk, batman, pepsi etc.
No relevance to the australian market
Its not a limited edition for Austrlia. The description says it's limited to 1500 worldwide.
It's a homage to the two tone Rolex GMT Master II which is know as a Root Beer.
The Seiko 5 Sports SRPE60K which is also on sale is a homage to the new two tone Rolex Explorer. Not sure why they'd do one for this model though as the consensus is it looks like faeces lol.
The description is not technically wrong. There is only 1500 worldwide but definitely only sold in Australia. This is one of a few sources https://seikoboutique.com.au/product/SNE566P
That actually makes much more sense!
Bundaberg make a root beer.
I wish this was an auto :(
Almost picked one up second hand for this price..
A bit dubious on the number of units though given the heavy discountingSomething about the polished two-tone makes Seiko's already cheap bracelets look extra cheap.
Nice basic solar divers watch.
But I've found a new Seiko which I can't stop thinking about… The Seiko sharp edge GMT…. I really want the white or blue one…

I think we have a problem I keep trying to fill my watch box which holds 11 watches but I sell one off to buy another so it never really gets full :(

I'm not very knowledgeable on Seiko.
How limited is '1500' pieces for Seiko? If compared to Omega, they are usually between 2000 - 10,000 pieces for their limited editions.
If you like Seiko limited Solar watch in a smaller sized form, the Seiko Tuna coke Prospex Solar Diver Lowercase Limited STBR009 is a good watch worthy for your consideration. Limited to 2000 pieces. Oh did I mention the price for only US$254 + $28 DHL shipping. Hurry.. few left as per SIJ.

Another one for consideration is the SBDN053 limited to only 1200 pieces for even cheaper price at US$242. Although I prefer the former dial configuration but some may prefer this.
If anyone's interested in all the LE models
https://www.plus9time.com/blog/2020/12/31/all-2020-seiko-ann…I just ordered up the Citizen GMT divers watch for $399.
Titanium case, Sapphire glass, GMT and powered by Citizens eco-drive. Love it.
Now that's a colour scheme that takes me back to the early 2000s.
