Amazon's cheapest price, but has been posted here from other stores for cheaper. The 'classic edition' is slightly more expensive: https://www.amazon.com.au/8BitDo-Pro-Bluetooth-gamepad-class… I prefer the black :-)

The grey model is avaiable via Kogan for $64 https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/8bitdo-pro-2-bluetooth-controll…

Still waiting for cheaper Xbox Series X/S Wireless Controller - Includes Wireless Adapter

  • Isn't Prime day coming soon? Think it would be cheaper then?

1st rule of ozbargain. Things will always be cheaper at some stage in the future.

2nd rule of ozbargain. buy now think later and cry after

        • don't really need it though lol. Already using the Switch controller to play PC games.

        • 3rd rule, (first rule?) get a 28 degree master card with price protection, then it doesn't matter..

The problem with black is that button labels are practically invisible, so if someone casually joins you to play, they have no way of telling which button is which.

Also the price went up, these used to be $50-something many times before.

    • Are you sure? Camel^3 suggests this is the cheapest Amazon price — the device was only released in ~April this year.

    • As someone who switches between Switch and Xbox (and also DS4!), I actually prefer that! I like the way that Overcooked explains button presses, with the highlighted button giving the relative position, and I explain button presses to people in that way: top button / bottom button / left button / right button. (Having explained ahead of time I am referring to the 4 buttons not directions on the d-pad, so as not to be confused with d-pad left and d-pad right - for those I would say “go left” or “go right”, etc).

I personally find that is way easier to explain and to understand for a non-gamer!

If only all companies could have agreed in a standard layout…would have made life much easier (I’m constantly pressing the wrong button for accept / cancel when I switch between Switch and Xbox!).

      • You can switch the buttons around on the Switch. But yeah I get what you mean. Shits me constantly playing BOTW.

        • Yeah, but 1) button remapping was added to the Switch as an update - too late for those of us that have already developed muscle memory! 2) I predominantly play on Switch, so if anything i would want to switch the XB1 buttons. (Also, does that change the on-screen button too? If not, that’s 3!).

Proper design standards would be much much much better! :)

            @caprimulgus: You're not wrong there.
And no, the on-screen buttons don't change. I got so fed up with Zelda, because while I switched the buttons around on the Switch system to Xbox settings, when I was playing Zelda or any other switch game, the on-screen prompts still show Nintendo style. It shitted me to no end, I switched back.

But let's be factual here, Nintendo was the first in the busines, techincally it fell on Sony and Xbox to match Nintendo. It's as if Xbox did it as a petty move.

    A lot cheaper from Kogan

    • Low stock and only in grey (which is ugo) but nice find!

      • +2

Nope I linked the G-classic edition. Not sure how this is a deal when it's just $6 less than RRP.

        • You say 'g-classic edition' I say ugo grey ;)

@wordpickle: Well since you like the black one so much here you go

            • @xers: why thank you - you've done a service to me and others.

              • +1

@wordpickle: You're welcome :). I do hope you're not being sarcastic and have actually saved money from my comments though. Can confirm I ordered from them and it arrived in about a week (so not as quick as Amazon). One of the best Switch controllers I've used in a while.

                • @xers: Nope, no sarcasm. I'm a impatient boy and don't like dealing with Kogan so I'll stick with my order, but I hope others can save some money!

  • What's the best controller for local multiplayer on PC?

    • The Xbox 360 wired edition is the corolla/camry for this purpose. Doesn't have any fancy features etc, but it does the job really well and will last you a long time.

      • +1

It's a good controller but you can't find a brand new wired Microsoft Xbox 360 controller in 2021.

The new Microsoft Series controllers are the easiest to recommend.

        • Fair enough. I'd also recommend PowerA for wired, they are licensed and costs about half the MS versions.

      • I still have the wireless 360 one on PC, still good with Windows 10.

      • i have a 360 controller and i'm actually in the market for a new controller rn… :(

not a bad controller especially for what it cost but the switch for the right bumper is starting to fail and the stock dpad is not great. haven't even really used it that much either. unfortunately it seems like almost every new controller nowadays has issues with stick drift so idk what to buy

        • If you are OK with wired, then try either PowerA or PDP for budget options. PowerA is a licensed third party for Xbox so compatibility is great, costs around $50 for the basic versions, but you can also get the flashy RGB stuff if you want.
