I just bounced this off someone else - and they wondered whether using a prepaid card with a low balance as your payment method MIGHT result in a debt collection situation … where Foxtel chases you for the $99.
I know that some people might say "try your hardest Foxtel - but there was nowhere where you stated that you reserved the right to charge me $99 if I ended the free trial and didn't sign up for an ongoing paid service" … but any kind of debt collection procedure puts a black mark on your credit file that follows you for many many years (even if it is a bogus / unjustified debt collection). Not sure if this is worth the risk of a black mark on your credit file.
Having said all that - how long would a person have to stay a member before finally being "allowed" to resign and keep the box. 1 month? 2 months? More?
I should have known better than to sign up for anything to do with Foxtel. The pain …
