PSN Final Fantasy Sale - Final Fantasy V-IX $8.45 AUD Each (Half Price) Cheaper for Plus Members

260

The PlayStation Network has a sale on most available Final Fantasy games. All the PS1 Final Fantasy games are down to $8.45 from the usual $15.95, giving you the perfect excuse to relive some of the best games of a couple of generations ago.

Also, for PlayStation Plus members, all of these games have an additional 10% discount, with the addition of Final Fantasy V going for the very low price of $0 - aka free.

These Final Fantasy games are compatible with the PS3 and PSP, and future support for the Vita should be available as well.

PSP Final Fantasy games are also on sale, which could be worth a look if wanting to stock up on more games to play for your PSP or for the Vita on release.

Check these deals on your PSP, PS3 or PC for more info.

Remember Final Fantasy IV, V and VI on the PSOne had terrible, terrible loading times.

As these are straight ports they also have this issues despite running from the hard drive.

    Still - bargain!

  • These are the ones that have a squashed image just like the psx days? I remember them having borders at the top and bottom of screen

    • I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they are. These would the be the PAL version of the games, which had the lines on the top and bottom. Comparitively, the NTSC versions were in full 4:3 and ran a little faster too (overall game speed is faster). I actually made a point of buying these games from the US store a few months ago, specifically to get the NTSC versions.

  • Now to find a cheap PSP.

  • Is this FF 5-9 $8.45 each (most likely) or as a package?

    • $8.45 each.

Just bought 7, 8, and 9. Thanks OP.

  • Can you purchase these on the pc? I don't have access to my ps3 at the moment :(

    • you might be able to using the Media Go app which was made for the PSP Go which allows PSN purchases on the PC, but I've never tried it to confirm that it actually works or not.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Go or mediago.sony.com

      • Go owner here: It works, once the application is installed you simply run it, navigate to the store tab and log in. Any purchases you make are then tied to that account much like purchasing anything from the PSP/PS3 storefronts.

  • Great post, especially mentioning them in conjuction with the upcoming Vita :)

One quick question, can you browse and buy the PSP only stuff through the PSN on PS3?

  • Is this the best way to play these games or is original NTSC format still the best?

  • Silly question, but do these FF games play on the ps3?

    • Yes they do.

      • xD infact this is for the PS3 and PSP

For those wanting to buy a PS3 console then I recommend that you get the FF13-2 PS3 - it would also go great with this deal - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/63163
