This Limited Edition console is a bargain in my opinion.
This deal won't apply to all of you but it is aimed at more serious gamers.
This is the Chinese version of FF13-2 which I reckon its the best one.

It has Japanese voice acting and has Chinese and English subtitles.
Not to mention it also comes with the soundtrack for the game.

The game alone is worth around $70 which makes the console about $350 for a limited edition 320GB PS3 with an awesome design to boot.

The console will also allow you to play BluRays from the US, Asia and Japan which is a big plus.
You won't need to worry about the power adapter since it is just the standard AC power adapter which pretty much everyone will have laying around at home.

If you are a serious game collector or huge Final Fantasy fan then this is a must get.
I would purchase one myself but I already have 3 PS3s otherwise I would be all over this deal.

  • Will this PS3 play Aussie Blu-ray movies? A lot of people here buy Blu-ray movies from Amazon UK which is also region B.

Otherwise like you said, only aim for serious gamers. More lik FF fans only.

    • +1

This wont play Region B. But nonetheless it is still a bargain if you break down the costs.

For less then $500 you get:

      PS3 320GB Console
FF13-2 Game (Japanese voices with English/Chinese language options)
      Special Soundtrack

The Japanese console does play region B blurat but it is over $200 more expensive so I would recommend the Asian version.

Is anyone else sick of these Play Asia affiliate spamming posts? It's not even a bargain.

~$500 for a PS3 + a game? You can easily pay less and get local warranty, albeit without the Lightning decal. If something goes wrong, you're screwed.

Also, any 'serious' gamer would already have a PS3. I think this is more suited to diehard fans.

    • +1

Don't get me wrong I totally agree with you, its more suited for diehard fans.
But in my opinion it is a bargain, if you find a cheaper price elsewhere please let me know.

  • +3

This is pushing it with play Asia

This needs a power step down and it won't play aust or uk blurays

    • +3

You don't need a step down for PS3s and region A (American) is where the blu-ray bargains are at.

    • -3

Some might say posting links to crappy games is pushing it more.

    • Just so people know, incase they don't, imported ps3's just need a figure 8 power cable replaced, $8 max extra, that's if you don't have any old cables laying around, ps2 cable works fine.

  • +2

    not a bargain

  • +3

    Not even cheap

  • Why are people assuming limited edition things are meant to be cheap, It's probably the cheapest price in comparison with the other places selling it. This deal is clearly meant for collectors and just a FYI, If you play final fantasy then I'm guessing you also enjoy anime, only U.S Amazon has a good collection of Blu-Ray Anime since not many good titles have been licensed for production on Blu-Ray for EU as of yet.

    • +2

Even still many cheap blu ray players are region free. No need to buy a limited ps3 just to play other region blu rays…

      • +1

The whole point of this deal is that it is a limited edition and the cheapest one I can find. If anyone knows a cheaper place then please post it here as I cant find a cheaper place for it.

Besides if you do the math then you will see my point….and also I agree with Kamui most the goods are Region A.

        • +4

The whole point of this deal is to try get referrals for your playasia account, please be honest.

        • +2

Your generosity to help the members of this site get a great deal knows no bounds…

  • +2

Some ppls are suckers for LE stuff, if I didn't already have too much crap lying around I'd be all over this. These were round 700 on release, given it has been a quick drop

  • +1

To buck the trend, I like these types of deals. Please keep them coming.

(I'm also one who likes itunes app deals as well which many complain about. >_> )

  • +1

This is a collectors item. There's a difference between a standard PS3 and this which explains the price, I shouldn't even need to be pointing this out, but the negs means I need to handhold some people.

  • Not even cheap, stop spamming play-asia item.

  • Considering a normal 320GB PS3 costs about AUD400 from various retailers here and the game + soundtrack itself would cost around USD 100 if bought online, this bundle is a pretty good value for a limited edition console.

To be honest this hasn't sold that well though. It's been more than a month since the Japanese release and Play Asia still have stock for both the Japanese and Asian version of the limited edition console. I remember I couldn't get my hands on the original Lightning Bundle when FF XIII was released

  • Looking for a cheap PS3 console (new). What is the cheapest around at the moment?

  • +1

Sick of this play Asia crap, ozgameshop and zavvi are usually cheaper and the same region.

    • +3

I'm just sick of seeing affiliate links. Either they are in it for the good of this community or they wanna make a buck. I know which it is.

      • erm….. just don't click on them….

you can block by retailer now i believe….

        • +2

That's addressing the problem, by addressing the symptom don't you think Andy?

        • +1

depends whether you view it as a problem…….

I personally have no problems with it….. saves me checking what the playasia specials are….
The affiliate link is separate, as it should be, and is a choice for community members to use or not.
They are usually 'worthwhile' bargains to someone in the the community.

This has become a very cynical, defensive, aggressive place….. None of the negs in this thread follow guidelines…. no one has pointed to a cheaper alternative. Just negs on the basis that the op might be gaining some benefit from posting, (although it's certainly transparent, and as mentioned previously, the community has the choice to use his affiliate link or not.)

      • +1

It is for both. I post a good deal and added an affiliate link that you can click if you want.
I don't post unless it is worthwhile. I don't need to point fingers as to who spams affiliate links.

        • I don't post unless it is worthwhile.

Most people post here without wanting anything (tangible) in return.

        • In the mirror?

  • +2

    Spam.

  • So a PS3 from any where overseas can be used here in Australia just by replacing the power cord to a Aust one so it can fit in our plugs?

Would have thought they would have been 110v

  • Aaaand…. sold out.

    • -1

Not surprising since its about $465-470 shipped after currency conversion, no one did the math
