Was looking for mobile deals with a bit more data than the $99 Coles deal. I found that amaysim has matched the Optus deal 120gb for $150 for 12 months and it appears $35 cash rewards applies, too bringing it down to $115 after cashback.
Decent deal for this amount of data and 12 month expiry.
P.s their 6 month 125?GB deal is now $99 ($78 with $21cashrewards applied) which appears to be a reasonable deal also. :)

Boost is owned by Telstra and doesn't offer 5G on their plans. I think the carriers are trying to get people onto their more expensive offerings to receive 5G. I'm honestly not sure what the benefit of 5G is if you aren't using it tethered/hotspot.
In theory a slightly warmer phone for the colder days of the year as it consumes more power. At this point it really only benifits the telcos, providing more throughput per tower, I don't see what you can do on 5g that you can't on 4g. Still, nice they can charge more for it and people out there will pay.
Anyone know if I buy now, can I activate in 1 month or 2 months instead?
I purchased a similar deal in March and didn't activate until the end of April after checking on live chat who said I could activate any time but it might be best to do the same and save the chat in case.
You should activate within 30 days to get cashback. They might use conditions to deny you it
Offer ends 31 July, so you could buy on 31 July and activate it in 30 days

For Cashrewards it has been 30 day activation in the past or you forfeit it.
For Amaysim, activation is usually good to go while the offer is valid. (July 31).
When will the $35 cashback offer end?
I'm not sure they give end dates. I guess as long as the plan is still listed on their website. One of the cashrewards reps on here might be able to provide more clarity.

Not going to bother since it still expensive. They did give me free upgrade from 50GB to 70GB (+15GB bonus) unlimited though. Reset my usage in the process.

I got my new plan last week with Kogan for $130. I thought i was getting 80gb as advertised but i got 120gb instead.
If I’m catch now (Optus) can I port to amaysim (also Optus) and get the deal. Is it still considered new user?
yes, i don't see why not. every telco has their own ID, even they used the same wholesaler, a bit like how NBN works.

This is an inferior plan compared to Coles, sure, more data, but it doesn't have international calling. still, not a bad deal for those that don't need international calls in particular to china.

The 12 month deal is only unlimited talk and text to Australian numbers. From memory the 6 month deal has free calls and texts to 28 countries.

So the half year deal has unlimited int'l calls included but not this one? Sounds like weird marketing

When you try to purchase it says your number will be tranfered in 3 hours or 3 days.

Can't see the 120GB/$150 1 year plan on Cashrewards. This is the only 1 year plan: $200 1-year Long Expiry Plan with 120GB
You'd have to double check with cashrewards if the cashback is still going for 12 month plans. Personally though I think this 6 month deal they just posted is a bit better value :)
