weak discount imo, considering many competitors often give 12 mths subs for free whenever they run a promo. That's why I feel that AV and the likes should be opensourced.

    • So… considering they only have lifetime licenses… you think… they should give away… free lifetime licenses…

      Riiiiiight.

      • To be fair, I should have mentioned the lifetime license when I first posted the deal. Originally neither the title nor description stated lifetime. Oversight on my part.

Anyone not familiar with MBAM would probably have assumed it was a subscription.

      • not stated in the previous post, so do you expect others to know the license policy of this product when they have not used it prior? Wow.

Since OP has amended after my initial post, I find that your reply is irrelevant.

  • Malwarebytes Pro is a lifetime license for consumers. No yearly purchase required, just buy it once. (Three years and counting for me).

From their website - "Consumers and personal users pay a one-time fee". Edited the description to reflect this.

  • MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) is a pretty good program. That being said, I don't like having many proactive scanners (Pro is, free isn't) running on my PC(s) at the same time, so while this is probably a good bargain, I'll stick to using the free version for when I get a problem (ie reactive)

    • +1

I to will continue to run to MBAM when in trouble, as well as SAS.
      Good deal tho.

    • If you use the free version you don't get the great feature real-time protection which works pretty well and blocks all incoming malware and other suspicious attacks as well.

With free version you can only scan your drives if I am not mistaken.

  • I found MBAM wanted to block a lot of things it shouldn't like my torrents.

  • So, is it just me or does "Now offering Malwarebytes 1.60 for new customers and additional licenses at 40% off for $14.99! (AUD)" read like the first license is $1.60 (i.e. new customers) and the next and subsequent (additional licenses) are $14.99?

I figured that couldn't possibly be the case but it still took me a good five minutes to work out what the 1.60 was - the version number.

  • Thanks was waiting for a deal on MBAM, was tempted to buy it at full price!
