  • I can never walk out of Bunnings without something in my arms!! Great deal!

I know the feeling I went in there for some gardening gloves and walked out with a ladder and new drill then had to go back because I forgot the gloves hahahahahaha.

    • Grrrrr!!!! :-(

  • Crap. I've just left bunnings. Good deal.

I have this ladder too, well constructed and feels very sturdy, given that it folds in multiple positions. Great thing is that you can fold it up and put it in the boot for portability

I bought this ladder from bunnings just after xmas for I think it was $89. (well, my dad bought it for me as an xmas present). I thought it was pretty damn good value at that price, so this is even better!

    • When I bought it a few years back I think it was $130. That's assuming it's the same ladder, but it certainly looks like it.

    • yeah I got it for $89 a year ago… it has been up and down in price ever since…not seen it that low before though.

I spoke to an old fella employed by bunnings about this ladder; He said he wouldn't buy it, as the rungs are too narrow and would quickly become uncomfortable after standing on it for any reasonable period.

He also said a ladder is something you keep for life.. so get something decent to start.

I've been looking at gumtree… you can pickup some quality secondhand industrial ladders such as this baileys fibreglass one for cheap …

      I like this idea: http://www.rungstep.com/
but I haven't seen anything like it in Australia

      • Love that rungstep. Need that rungstep.

    • I have a Gorilla extendable ladder and love it for what it does, but I agree with the experienced old guy - if you are intending on standing on a single rung (ie not in platform mode)for prolonged periods (eg not just to get to a stable place like a rooftop) then the narrow rungs will kill your calf muscles after a while. So these are usually not so good for clearing gutters or painting (unless in platform mode).

    • Not so easy to fold though aye? :)

    • good point about the rungs. I need to wear some footwear when standing on the ladder, otherwise the soles of the feet hurt

      • pretty much whatever activity you're doing that needs a ladder means you should be wearing adequate footwear anyway!

        • Yes but some don't… like changing a bulb… however with this ladder you certainly do need footwear on.

    • I would agree with that, certainly can't just pop up it without shoes on! However I rarely need to use it, and have never needed to stand on it for a long period.

    • Agreed. I was recently looking at ladders and ended up buying this: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61749.

I did also see this $79 Bunnings folding one (though some were selling it at $74), but having used one before I have experienced first hand how uncomfortable they can be.

Love the Bailey. Just short enough to fit into my roof access manhole and long enough to prop against gutters (in 3.2m extension mode). Steady as a rock and no issues with using it barefoot either.

      • Comfort isn't really the point. I also have a nice Bailey Pro ladder, but it can't get to everything I need it to. Thats where this multi fold ladder comes in.

        • It is when you stand on them all day like I do.

    • completly agree no that great especially when painting, no caddy either

  • I have this one too. Have say a great ladder. I actually had a kmart one first but it is smaller and heavier than the bunnings one (weight is a big issue with these fold-able ones). Out of all the ones I've tried bunnings have the most effective one.

If you are looking for an extra metre get this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180764276146
I got that one and it's a good ladder, VERY LIGHT WEIGHT and easy to carry. 3.7m wasn't enough to get on my roof.

  • There is (or was) something similar at KMART for either $59 or $69 (saw it just after XMAS) but I don't know how the specs compare. It wasn't a sale price either.

  • I also bought one of these a few months ago. Very useful but I'd have to agree the rungs are quite narrow and you have to be quite careful, particularly getting off a roof back onto the ladder.

    • 120kg Domestic rating

Yep. only 120kg. can't carry my wife up to the roof to clean the gutters out on this.

      • you mean me missus can't carry me slab of beer up the ladder

        • No, she'll be right mate.

Is that $79 for a long time already? i bought it like 3 months ago for that price…

    • yeah that's normal price.
IIRC Kmart has a similar ladder for $75

  • +1

150kg rating is good for that price.

I was looking at ladders in KMART, they had a 100kg rating going for about 60 bucks, and I didn't want the ladder to collapse when someone handed me the drill.

    • +1

haha that was great, love how he keeps saying how "safe" it is.

  • Is this on special or just at everyday price?

  • I bought this ladder for the same price about 5 months ago… I used it as a platform to paint the house. I just bought a piece of pine. worked great. It is very flexible and convenient.

  • Just fair price for everyday use multifold ladders.

  • If you go into the timber section they normally have these ladders with the platforms as well for the same price.
