are we ever going to get deals for the 48"

    • +2

Don't think there's enough stock to bother clearing through them too aggressively - hope I'm wrong though

  • +3

At this price, would the LG BX be a better option than the Sony X9500H? Am aware that one is LED and other is OLED but I'm curious how a top of the range LED compares.

    • +2

In most use cases, yes. The X9500H however does have significantly superior peak brightness so HDR content would likely look better on it. If HDR content is not important, definitely the BX i reckon. But if it is, really, go to a store play a HDR blurway/USB video and decide yourself.

  • +2

Mate, seeing all these OLED deals when I just got the Sony x9000H 65…for $900 less than this, but still…

    • +2

Don't feel too bad. I got the X9000H for $300 less than this maybe 3 months ago. Can never win!

      • I watched 'Our Planet' in Dolby on Netflix to make myself feel better about the quality of the x9000H - looked awesome 👍

  • Does anybody know if their physical store matches the ebay store ?

    • I have been successful in the past.

      • even if its a discount code?

  • +7

Finally oled specials getting closer to where they should be

  • +2

I'd wait. I bought a 65 CX for slightly less than this last month from HN (of all places)

Hisense is a good deal though for dure

    • +2

Able to share your receipt please to help us get similar deal?

    • +8

You got a 65 CX for less than $2.6k?

    • +3

      Really Less? More info please.

    • That's why I'm hesitating as well, BX is great but the CX just has that slight edge, processor and the 650nits vs 500 nits and 4xHDMI 2.1 ports vs 2xHDMI 2.1, with 1 being eARC

      • Huh bx has 2 hdmi?

        • +1

Rtings > Inputs > Input specifications
HDMI 2.0 Full Bandwidth - Both: Yes (HDMI 1,2,3,4)
HDMI 2.1 Class Bandwidth - CX: Yes (HDMI 1,2,3,4) BX: Yes (HDMI 3,4)
And by HDMI 2.1, it isn't 48Gbps but rather 40Gbps, however this is fine since the panels are only 10-bit colour not 12-bit colour, so there's no issue with being at 40Gbps vs the proper spec of 48Gbps as it is not required.

Of the BX' 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, one of these is marked as (eARC/ARC) port 3. This is the port is for Enhanced/Audio Return Channel, which is the port used for sound bars. Meaning, if you have a soundbar with your BX you'll use port 3, leaving you with effectively 1 HDMI 2.1 port for all of your devices and 2 standard HDMI 2.0 ports. The CX having all HDMI 2.1 means it will have 3 HDMI 2.1 ports left over when using a sound bar.

          Hopefully that makes more sense?

        • BX has 4.
          2 are HDMI 2.1, and 2 are HDMI 2.0.

        • To reply to myself and in defence of BX owners, how many HDMI 2.1 devices are you intending on using? You can also get a HDMI 2.1 splitter if you're using more than 1 device. So it's not a deal breaker, it's just something to consider.

          • +1

@conza: Have you found a confirmed working HDMI 2.1 splitter? Quick google search has returned none for me:(

            • @Chickfilo: Closest I've found is Display port splitters, might work with an adapter or DP to HDMI cable, but it's not necessarily a sure thing. I guess HDMI 2.1 hasn't taken off that much yet. To be fair again, you could just have 1 cable plugged into the TV That is rated at 4K 120hz (8K 60hz I guess?), then swap the devices, it's not a big deal, it's just nice to have it future proofed.

    • +2

Bigger isn't always better when it comes to tvs. There's recommended sizes based on how far you sit from the tv. Where our couch is positioned 65" is the sweet spot.

      • +2

I'd still take the Sony x9000h 75 for better immersion.

  • the hisense will be $1400 delivered right? $55 delivery, its about 100 dollars less than last month deal.

  • +7

Bang. I've pulled the trigger, been looking for this kind of deal for a while and to spend some eBay giftcards. Looking forward to 65" of some pure blacks and glossy screen goodness.

    • +3

You'll love it. I bought a CX a few weeks ago. It's awesome!

      • do you mind to share the price? I am looking to get a CX 65".

        Thanks

  • What is this like in sunny rooms versus something like the X9500H? Do you absolutely need to use block out blinds or be in darkness, or is the panel more like "just don't point it towards the sun"?

    • Depends if you are watching TV during the day, and the brightness of the movie.

    • +2

You don't want direct light on it. OLEDs are super glossy to give you those shiny blacks. So it's like a mirror with darker content in the daytime. Plus if you're mainly going to watch content in the daytime then you won't notice the benefit of OLED anyway. Its meant for dark or theatre rooms.

  • I am quite surprised that there are any BX series models left in the market. For those prepared to wait, I believe that LG are keeping the new A1 series in reserve to battle Samung and Hisense in a future price war

  • Tempting..

  • Still rocking my 65" C8 and seeing no need to upgrade soon, this is a great price for the BX though!
