Full flavoured Barossa reds like this are in big demand for their dense ripe flavour and tremendous longevity. The cherry, spice and blackberry fruit characters in this wine have been enhanced by maturation in new American oak, producing a wine that has plenty of well integrated oak character. It is showing a lot of flavour and potential now but it will be drinking well for many years to come.
Colour: Deep red.
Nose: Red berry fruit and spice.
Palate: Bright red berry fruit with subtle oak and fine tannins.

    Great price.
    Just FYI: Dan's and Cellarmasters are both part of Woolworths, and this is a Woolworths home-brand, not an actual winery. Ignore RRP. But their wines are decent, and for only $6, you can't go wrong.

    Unless you are a wine snob, like in Sideways :-)

      Merlot already had a lowly reputation among wine snobs, but that movie finished it off. No serious wine drinker bought Merlot after it came out, and everyone started saying they don't drink Merlot.
      I actually never bought another bottle of Merlot. But I did get a bottle in a mixed dozen recently. I left it till last, and begrudgingly drunk it just last week as it was all we had in the house. Surprisingly, it was actually really good… Crazy to think how that movie shifted opinions
